I like Kat's approach to dog training--very positive, yet effective. She came to my house to meet both my dogs before we started group classes with the puppy. That showed a level of care for the animals that impressed me.

Amy and Ryan are fantastic. They are willing and capable of completing ANY handyman projects that a homeowner can imagine. Painting was the reason I connected with Everything In Between, and they did a terrific job at that, BUT it was also refreshing to have them so kindly tackle haul-away, installing drapes, and pet entertaining as well! They instill a spirit of hard work and trust that is not only refreshing but makes you know you will call on them next time and the time after that.

Very professional as well as kind to the animals. She did three of our dogs in less time that then it takes to have one dog done at the drop off groomers. All dogs looked better than they ever did. Price and convenience was also a factor in our rating. I will use them again and recommend them to everyone who has a pet.

Struttin Paws By Lynn

I left Lynn with my 2 little chihuahuas during a 3 weeks trip abroad. She did an amazing job with them. Not only she took her time to getting to know them prior to my trip, but once I was gone, she stayed in touch with me via whatsup daily, sending me pics of my babies and keeping me informed of everything that was going on. She stayed in my house with my doggies, so my doggies didn't have to miss their home and at my return, Lynn had cleaned my house and kept everything the exactly same way I have left it 3 weeks earlier. I recommend Lynn to anyone who loves his/her pet dearly. She is a true animal lover, amazingly honest and caring person. From now on, I will always hire Lynn to take care of my little ones when traveling.

To whom it may concern, Ursula is extremely trust worthy and a huge dog lover. She is gentle, sweet and loving. The animals love her tender nature. She followed any instruction I left for her including administrating medication to one of my babies. Ursula played with them and provided so much love and attention to them. I don't even think they missed me.. LOL! Not only did she keep my babies company but she checked the mail, watered my plants and took out trash on trash day! I feel completely safe with Ursula in my home, she is a mature, responsible young lady and now my new pet sitter. Your babies will LOVE her!!!

Just a quick note to let you know how much I appreciated the house cleaning services by Maria Demarti. She provided the best cleaning service for my 2 story home that I've ever received. Everything looked so sparkly clean. The best part was the fresh scents throughout the house. It's so nice to know that she did not use harsh chemicals to get the job done. Maria has also offered petsitting for us. Our pets loved her, especially the African Grey parrot. I highly recommend Maria's services. Debra Hockenberger

I've had dogs and other animals all my life. I have been a dog trainer for the past 3 years working on basic obedience, therapy training, and service dog training. I have also been the "house mother" at Vegas Shepherd Rescue for the past two years dealing with many dogs with various issues. I have a female white shepherd named Luna and an 11 year cat named Izzy. I have experience administering all types of medications and have taken care of senior and special needs animals as well.

My daughter and myself will give special love and attention to every animal in our care as if they were our own. I am dependable and trustworthy. I have extreme love and respect to all animals.

I rescue animals from puppy mills. I own two retrievers that I rescued from puppy mills, and I am part of the Golden Retriever Rescue Foundation.

I believe that your pets cope better staying home when their parents are gone. So, I stay at your home with them. I feed and care for them. We'll do lots of walks if wanted. I also do grooming and give plenty of love.

I have experiance with Elderly, children, animals and house keeping. Service seekers often need someone caring and someone to trust in good faith.

I have experience training dogs, exercising, walking and spending time visiting with animals. For example, I trained and exercised two mid-sized poodles. They were a challenge as one had a high level of fear of other dogs and the other constantly guarded the frightened dog. It took a good month or training to reduce the heightened fear response from hyper jumping and whimpering to walking quietly beside me. I care about the dogs I work with. I utilize a goal of compassionate cooperation between myself and the dog to achieve the goals of an enjoyable relationship.

I don't have a business; I am just looking for a job to do. I love animals, so they will be in safe hands. You can count on me.

I am a very responsible, organized, hard working person. I like to do my best and make people happy with my job.

My services include the following: * Pet walking * Pet sitting * Sanitation and cleaning of pets and yard area * Grooming * Exercising of pets My services include all pets and pet types, not just dogs.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What does a dog walker do?

We all know our dogs love going on long, adventure-filled walks, but jobs and family and commuting can make it difficult to give them the leash time they deserve. You can hire a professional dog walker to make sure your furry friend gets adequate exercise and outdoor time each day. A professional dog walker may be an individual contractor or work for a dedicated dog-walking company. In either case, you want to make sure the pro has the appropriate insurance in case of an emergency. Some people opt to give the dog walker a key to their house; others to have them pick up the dog from the yard. Dog walking can happen as often as multiple times per day, or just a few times a month as needed. Here are some questions to ask when you are interviewing a new dog walker:

    • Will you or someone else be walking my dog?
    • Do you have a backup plan if you can’t make it for a scheduled walk?
    • Will you walk my dog by itself, or do you walk several dogs at once?
    • What are your different walk routes?
    • When will you pick up and drop off?
    • How will we communicate?
    • Do I have to commit to a schedule or are you flexible?
    • What’s your cancellation policy?
    • What’s your response plan if my dog gets injured or becomes sick?
    • How and how often do I pay you?
    • Do you offer package pricing if I buy multiple dog walks up front?

How much do dog walkers charge?

The cost of dog walking depends on several factors including length and frequency of dog walks, the number of dogs on the walk, distance to your house, and any additional services you request. The national average cost range for a dog walk is $10-$20, but that price will vary based on where you live in the country and the regional cost of living and doing business.

The longer the dog walk, the higher your costs will be. Dog walkers offer a range of walk lengths, from 15-minute potty breaks to long hikes of 120 minutes or more. For example, a dog walker may charge $15 for a 15-minute walk and $35 for a 35-minute walk. Requesting that your dog be the only animal on the walk will typically mean a higher cost than if you permit your dog to be walked in a pack of dogs. You may be able to get a discounted rate if you have more than one dog to be walked. For example, a professional dog walker may charge $28 for one dog or $33 for two dogs on a 60-minute walk. If you need additional help — like feeding the dogs or giving them medication — dog walkers may be able to provide this service at an additional fee. Dog walkers may charge higher rates for walking your dogs on holidays.

How much does it cost to hire a house sitter?

House-sitting can be a lifesaver when you’re leaving town for any length of time. Whether you work remotely, you’re taking a much-needed vacation, or you just want to road-trip for a few days, it’s wise to have a pro keep an eye on your house and pets while you’re gone. Your home is more likely to stay safe and you won’t have to wrangle the kitty into a kennel to travel with you. The national average pet-sitting price ranges between $20 and $30. Pet-sitting and house-sitting costs will vary based on where you live in the country and regional labor rates. Another factor in cost is how long you want the house-sitter to stay. Some people prefer to have the house-sitter stay the night at their house, perhaps to care for an elderly pet or simply to keep a watchful eye on the home at all times. Overnight stays will cost more, ranging anywhere from $50 to $100, depending on services provided. For day visits, house-sitting and pet-sitting prices will increase incrementally the longer the visit and the more service you want performed. For example, a quick 10-minute visit to feed and walk the pet and bring in the mail could be $12.50, a 25-minute visit could be $18, a 40-minute visit $25, and a 50-minute visit $32. How much should you pay for a pet sitter?

Pet sitting provides your precious pet with in-home care. A pet-sitter can make a brief visit during the day to provide snacks, playtime or affection, or stay at your house for one or more nights to tend to your pet. Prices for pet-sitting will vary based on length of the visit. Nationally, pet sitting prices range from $20 to $30, although prices run higher for your sitter to stay the night. Prices will also be affected by where you live in the country. Here are some examples of average pet-sitting prices based on length of time and region:

    • 30-minute visit: $17 in a small Texas town.
    • 30-minute visit: $25 in Southern California.
      • 45-minute visit: $28.
      • 60-minute visit: $32.
    • Overnight stay (10 hours): $50 in Texas.
    • Overnight stay (10 hours): $85 in Southern California.
      • 12 hours: $100.
      • 24 hours: $200. This is a good option for a sick, elderly or brand-new pet that needs constant supervision.
