Esoteric Shuri-Ryu

Shuri-Ryu Karate is becoming rare. When I was 5 years old my father started teaching me the art. As a child I would attend three classes a week, this continued into adulthood. My style of karate is built to make humans into concrete through building strong minds, strong body’s, and strong spirits. My Rinshi comes directly from the school of Robert A. Trias, the founder of our style. I will be able to gauge what teaching style you would enjoy through the first session. By nature, the art is harsh, and it is not for everyone. I have decided to start teaching again to pass on 25 years worth of knowledge to whomever has the desire to learn. My experience varies from training winning point fighters, to training with current UFC atheletes, to women’s self defense classes. My teaching style moves from the traditional karate to the more modern forms of martial arts. I will not observe belts, or rank. You are free to ask me as many questions as you want about what you are learning. I can provide many references from my past work in South Carolina if needed, I taught for almost 15 years. I have experience teaching children, young adults, women, men, and a few animals. Social distancing will be observed as much as humanly possible, and I will suggest classes at a local public park in Boulder. I would love to have healthy students! 😅. I will be doing a special “bring a partner” discount to minimize risk, this person would serve as a training partner and receive the same instruction as you, at a discounted rate.
