Sean and company did touch-up paint work for me in one of my properties as I prepared to rent it. They also repainted a bathroom in another property and cleaned out the gutters that were blocking the flow of rain to the downspouts. Very satisfied with the work on both properties, and prices were reasonable. He worked quickly, finished when he said he would and called with updates. I have multiple properties and considering using this company for other projects in the future. Great work and fast service. Thanks so much! Ursula

I am a person who regularly reads reviews when trying to decide on a purchase or hiring for a service, so I purposely waited until Heather had come a couple of times to write a review for her. She shows up on time or even a little earlier than she promises, and is very efficient. She is very pleasant and professional, expecting feedback and encouraging you to not be afraid to let her know if she missed something or if you would like something done differently. Heather pays attention to the details which make the difference between a good house cleaner and a great one. The cobwebs are found and cleared, the lid of the garbage can is cleaned, the toaster oven and microwave are done... She lifts things up and moves them to clean under thoroughly instead of just going around. She put the chairs up on the table to get the floor shiny, and has even offered to do laundry. I have used a few house cleaners in the area over the past couple of years, and Heather is by far the best of them. I would highly recommend her services, and will happily repost if this opinion changes in the future.

Needed to have the pipes that drain my tub replaced. Evan knew exactly what to do as soon as he arrived and told me exactly what it would take to fix. He was the most professional person I approached about the job and treated me and my home with respect. Will hire again for future service.

The guys were professional and did excellent work. I had no water due to external frozen popes that were buried under concrete. They had the proper tools and blasted through frozen pipes fairly quickly and allowed me to return to my business. The only reason I did not give a 5 star review was because I was charged a $50 travel fee which was never discussed until the bill was given. Otherwise I highly recommend and would use them in the future.

Jason was amazing! He called me back right away and came within the hour. He cleared the clog in my kitchen drain so fast and his price was beyond reasonable. I put his magnet on the refrigerator and I will definitely be calling him again for any other problems I have.

Fabulous people to work with. They went to repair a faucet and notified me that my tenants had a problem they had not brought to my attention. There was a pipe that had frozen and there was hot water running to melt it. Unfortunately, the sink gasket was not working so it was leaking on the inside of the cabinet. He repaired the faucet and then set a date to come back to do the other job. Very reasonable. Tenants are very pleased witht he work. I will definately be getting more work done by this man.

We had water backing up due to a blockage in our basement, making us unable to shower or use our toilet. Lewis responsed to our inquiry very quickly, and was able to schedule an appointment time within a couple hours. He showed up on time, and was not only able to repair the problem quickly, but he was extremely thorough and his prices were extremely reasonable as well. I would highly recommend hiring him!!!!!

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What are plumbers and what do they do?

Plumbers are skilled professionals who are trained to install and maintain pipes and systems for drinking water, sewage and drainage. They usually have trained through four- to five-year training programs, which include apprenticeships, via trade schools and community colleges. Plumbers’ areas of expertise typically go beyond pipes to include mathematics, blueprint reading, plumbing codes and water distribution. They handle plumbing emergencies, such as broken pipes or clogged drains, and install and maintain everything from a new piping system to a replacement faucet. Plumbers also know how to install bathtubs and showers, toilets, water heaters and dishwashers. Plumbers may work on residential or commercial sites, sometimes designing and laying out a pipe system during construction.

How do you find a good plumber?

Whether you need a plumber to perform drain repair, install a new fixture, or replace rusty pipes, you need to make sure you hire someone reliable who will finish your job on time and within budget. Start by asking the plumbers on your short list these questions:

  • What is the total cost? Make sure your estimate includes materials and labor. Find out whether the plumber will be providing the materials and whether you’re being charged an hourly rate (which is variable) or a flat fee.
  • Is removal and cleanup included in the job? Some plumbers leave behind old parts, while others include the cleanup in the cost.
  • Is the work guaranteed? Find out whether the work (as well as the parts or fixtures) are guaranteed under a warranty.
