Hey Party People! The truth is: I used to cringe at the idea of being an “event planner.” Sure, it combines a lot of things I love and feel confident doing: organizing, brainstorming, implementing, collaborating with new people…yet there was this sick feeling at the pit of my stomach because of how out of hand this industry has gotten. Was I buying into this oversaturated industry if I liked to plan cool events? The short answer: no. The long answer: still, no. And I’ll tell you why: because planning a badass event and giving back doesn’t have to be mutually exclusive: that’s my philosophy. This industry (like any industry!) needs the yous and mes of this world to shake things up, and that’s what we’re trying to do here at Modern Rebel & Co. We plan unique events and partner with local nonprofits to meet your and their goals simultaneously, and we have a blast doing it. Modern Rebels come in all forms and fashions. They are feminist brides, an ageing tattooed couple celebrating 60 years together, a baby diving into their first birthday cake or maybe a tech start-up celebrating their launch. Our modern rebellion means creating an experience for your guests and doing it with style, sincerity, and a social impact. So, what do you say? Are you a modern rebel, too? Amy was amazing. We hired her as a "day of coordinator" for our ~65 person wedding in Brooklyn. She was highly accessible before the event via email and was super organized about everything. Most importantly, she made everything go smoothly on the day of. She was adaptable, responsive, and aware of everything going on. One example, from the "altar" I realized we had forgotten the glass to break at the end of the ceremony. I caught Amy's eye from the back of the room, mouthed the word "glass" and make and grasping motion with my hand (the international sign for breaking?). Moments later a napkin wrapped wine glass was ready to be smashed under my feet! Amy also had to deal with makeup artist who was an hour late for the mother of the bride. Amy had the most infectious positive energy and while she was clearly hard at work she made it seem effortless and as though she was with us the whole day smiling and enjoying If I could do it again I would have Amy hands down! And I would hire Amy for every other event. Whenever Amy saw either one of us she smiled and just made us calm. She helped with everything from directing the walk to every other single little and big thing. Amy Amy Amy! She's beyond amazing and it would've been our biggest regret of we didn't choose Amy. Don't think twice just book her! if you want to be a guest at your own wedding it's the best decision you'll make out of all your vendors.

The best piece of advice we received while trying to plan our DIY wedding on a budget was to hire an Wedding Coordinator. Amy was amazing! My husband I would have been lost without her calm, kind guidance. The peace of mind of having someone as competent as Amy in charge of juggling the complicated moving parts of our wedding was worth every penny! We'd highly recommend her! -Tim & Jordan

Amy was terrific tho work with. She made the process painless and smooth so that our wedding day went as best as possible. (Despite horrible weather and an outdoor ceremony). She made sure everyone knew the new location and even made our centerpieces, which came out gorgeous. We are so glad we chose Amy to be part of our special day.

Amy is creative, hard working, dedicated, talented, and I don’t know what we would do without her. Our wedding is in a completely raw space in Brooklyn, so the planning process is more challenging than I could ever handle on my own. NYC weddings add up very quickly and planning a wedding for 200 people seemed unattainable given our budget. We’ve been faced with obstacles that have made me think we’re in over our heads, but Amy is particularly great at coming up with creative solutions to fit within any budget. She sets deadlines for us to keep us on track, asks questions to our vendors I would never even think to ask, is extremely organized, patient, resourceful, professional and I highly recommend her to anyone planning a wedding! I have complete confidence and trust in Amy that our wedding day will perfect and stress free.
