Sumayya Alsenan Design

Introduction: Hi! I am a senior designer/art director with eight years of experience. I hold a BA in visual communication in addition to an MFA in design from the School of Visual Arts. I am also the winner of various awards from the Type Directors Club, GD USA and others. For the last three and a half years, I have been a lecturer at Shillington School of graphic design, where I taught and mentored over 180 graduates. Working with sometimes 23 students at a time, we ran our classes in an art director/junior designer dynamic, which taught me a lot about managing and art directing teams, giving constructive criticism and being able to meet and respect deadlines. Previous to that, I worked as a designer at several firms, such as C&G Partners, Pentagram and others. Besides my teaching and art directing experience, I am proficient and passionate about both web and print design. I am also up-to-date when it comes to new technologies such as e-publishing and UI. I'm an expert in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign. I am familiar with HTML, CSS and motion graphics (After Effects). I also have an in-depth knowledge about production and printers' needs.
