About
Let's start with a free lesson to see if it is a fit! I'm looking for students of any level who are seriously interested in learning music. Do you want to... -Learn your favorite songs and what makes them tick? -Play chords so beautiful that birds sing and flowers bloom? -Write the song that will be blasting at your own funeral? -Understand music theory and the aesthetic firepower it gives you? I am a guitarist, producer, bassist, and drummer with a B.S. in jazz guitar and 9+ years of teaching experience. My teaching style is based on experimentation, compassion, self-examination, in-depth analysis, and giving students the tools needed to teach themselves. I base my curriculum on you as an individual and the music you love. I cover songwriting, live looping, style fluency, tone, music production, soloing, improvisation, incorporating jazz melodies and chords, fingerpicking, neuroscience-based practice techniques, and more. Genre is not a question for me. I am equally comfortable producing trap beats as I am playing fingerstyle, death metal, blues, indie folk, or jazz. I give students custom tabs and music as well as a regularly updated document of resources and lesson reviews. I am also available outside of lessons if you have questions.

Tony was one of my first introductions to music and as I have progressed he continues to be my biggest influence and teacher. He is a rare breed of person who processes both creativity and knowledge of theory in volumes. His approach is easy to digest but without ever feeling like you are a novice who won’t progress into the musician you want to be. This is the music teacher you want at any level because he inspires you as both an instructor and a musician himself. There is honestly no one I would recommend more. He’s also funny and approachable which of course helps you want to continue with the lessons, something critical to getting better. You won’t regret lessons with Tony, he really is one of a kind.

Working from home for the past 8 months has made me stir-crazy. I decided I needed a hobby. I had an old acoustic guitar that was gathering dust. I had tried to learn to play on my own years ago by reading a book, but gave up quickly. It didnt take long to realize that playing the guitar requires hand manipulations that are at times completely foreign to the human body. Tony pretty much showed me that I was taking the wrong approach from the start. What I appreciated the most is that Tony was able to guide me to getting to a point in just a couple of sessions where I could actually play something recognizable. Tony is a nice guy, very knowledgeable, respectful, and PATIENT (thank god).

Tony is very patient and incredibly thoughtful in his approach to teaching the instrument of instruments-the guitar.

Tony is not only my favorite guitar/music theory teacher but also my favorite guitar player. He has taught me so much over the years as well as teaching me to teach myself. He is an empath and it shows in his teaching. Whether you are a beginner or brushing up on your chops he will have an infinite amount of things to show you with the patience of a saint.
