Introduction: David Gorfien is a multi-talented musician, educator, composer, and performer. He has performed compositions from the Renaissance to world premiere 21st century compositions.
As a performer, David has been invited to perform in master classes with world-renowned classical guitarists, such as Petar Kodzas, Marko Feri, Mir Ali, Roland Dyens, James Piorkowski, and The Castellani-Andriaccio Duo. David has performed as a solo artist, in the pop/acoustic band Peace of Mind, and with Eddie Cain Irvin.
As a composer, David has written and recorded three pop albums. His newest album "Sail To Soar" was released in 2011.
As an educator, David was awarded a year-long teaching assistantship in classical guitar. He has worked with students K-12 as a student teacher and has taught private students all varieties of guitar. David developed a specialized music program for children with autism and Asperger's.
David received his bachelor's degree in music education and classical guitar from The State University of New York at Fredonia, studying with James Piorkowski. David recently finished his master's degree in classical guitar performance under the direction of Joanne Castellani.
