- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I would advise a customer to go with your gut. You will be spending a significant amount of time with your wedding planner and it is important that you understand and trust each other. When you hire After 5 Events we basically become your new best friend! I would also make sure that your wedding planner is licensed and insured by their operating state (NY), and that you have a formal written contract. Lastly, sit back and relax. Your planner is there to make you feel stress free and pampered. Hiring a wedding planner allows you to enjoy every detail of your wedding day and feel like a guest at your own event!
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
I wish that customers realized truly how many hours go into planning a wedding. As the owner of a wedding planning boutique I literally work every single day early morning to late at night piecing your perfect day together. This doesn't even include the rehearsal, wedding ceremony, and reception. It is common for me to work 20 hours straight on a clients wedding day. It is what I love though so I am very happy to do it :)
