Gregor is a kind and supportive teacher who made my lessons fun and enjoyable. I highly recommend him to anyone who is considering violin lessons for the first time or already an experienced player.
Harry is an excellent violin instructor. He is very attentive and places a large emphasis on technique early on, to develop good habits and ultimately allow his students to grow into better players.
I am fortunate to have found a dedicated and professional violin teacher for my two children. Miss Victoria has a great personality and is able to keep them focused and motivated. My daughter was especially taken immediately with her encouraging and supportive approach. Their hand position and technique are much improved since starting with Miss Victoria.
Kino is really patient with me, and her space is really clean, bright and large, highly recommend her for piano lessons.
Working with Oriana has been a wonderful experience. She challenges you, but still moves at a pace that allows you to grasp each new concept. Every lesson is customized and I feel that she is truly invested in my progress. Our piano lessons are one of the highlights of my week!
Dina played Violin at our Central park Wedding yesterday and it was simply enchanting! We chose all the music together... She is such a great violinist that you would think you have a whole quartet playing.. And when I asked her to play Puccini, she suggested against it as a processional stating it would not sound perfect with just violin and we decided on cannon d.. To my surprise, I walked down the aisle to a beautifully played O mio babbino by Puccini.. I cannot even immagine how much time she must have spent rehearsing that leading up to our wedding and it was just beautiful!!everything she played was just beautiful! thank you Dina!
Allison is an excellent violin instructor. I was an extreme beginner when I started taking lessons from her, and she was very kind and helpful throughout the way. I would definitely recommend learning from her!
I could never expect that I could have such a deep and warm sound. Emanuele really helped me to release all my tension and to feel free while I play. Thanks to him I have now a much more professional sound and a much more serious approach to the violin. Every lesson is a new experience, I really enjoy studying with him.
Catherine was fantastic instructor. She was very patient and very encouraging while also challenging me with new material. As an adult beginning violin student I loved working with her.
My daughter has been taking violin lessons with David since she was 9 years old; and more recently, she has started classical, acoustic guitar lessons the summer before entering college. He is a dedicated professional and diligent in making sure his students learn correct technique and become more musical in their own personal way. More importantly, David has the ability to keep his lessons fun and varied! Her lessons have always been highlights of my daughter's week! I recommend David without hesitation.
I reached out to Emma after a friend of mine recommended her to me for music theory help. On my first session, I was able to grasp simple music theory concepts that I had not been able to understand on my own. She was able to really simplify it and explain it to me with the upmost patience even after I felt like I was getting everything wrong. After my first session, I inquired about violin lessons and she sent me home with an assignment to start looking at an intermediate violin piece she picked out that would suit my skill level (I am a novice violin player with some experience). She was very quick to respond when I reached out to her on feedback on choosing my piece. On my second session, she started out with a very organized lesson plan for me and a practice schedule that she typed up for me to stick to. Her lessons are very organized and very informative which have definitely helped me see improvement in my playing just after a couple of lessons. I highly recommend reaching out to Emma if you are looking to get quality lessons from a professional musician !
Avital has been my sons violin tutor for quite some time, and I couldn't be happier. He is a wonderful teacher and an expert violinist. He really knows how to deal with children (my son is 9), and is patient and gentle, while at the same time holding them to a real standard and encouraging them to be the best they can. He is a wonderful violin tutor and I highly recommend him!
I was looking for a teacher who can teach beginner adult violin and I found a perfect teacher! I learned violin when I was a child so I did have prior exposure but I haven't played it for about 10 years so I didn't know where I stand or where I should start from. Tianyang also checked the condition of my violin (it was still in a playable condition thankfully). After the first lesson he could see exactly where I stand now and where I should start from. He is helping me to learn the right posture again and he's giving tons of tips as well. He is very patient and encouraging. He works well with adults but I am sure he'll be good at teaching children as well. I'm very glad to learn violin from him!
Both my son and daughter are taking music lessons with Furuya Sisters. They are very professional, patient, attentive teachers with effective teaching methods.
Helene was able to help me break through a huge mental block that prevented me from learning how to play the piano. I now know how to practice and enjoy learning and playing new songs. You will be very pleased with her.
He focuses quickly on areas for needed improvement and gives excellent, friendly advice on how to achieve it.
I've been taking violin and musicianship lessons with Jack . I can say he is a very responsible person who will help you to improve from different aspects. Under the instruction of him, I gained a lot of musicianship skills in advance before I went to study music in college. That helps me to integrate into intensive music classes in college. He's not only my teacher, he's more like a friend of mine. He gives many suggestions to you, helping you to solve problems. Taking lessons with him is very valuable to me.
What I love the most about Johannes is the fact that he treats his beginner-intermediate students just like his music major students or those who are preparing to audition for conservatories or precolleges. I've studied with him for about 3 years so far. I had learned the violin for a couple of years before him but had no basic technique secured and struggled a lot with tone production and overall playing quality. He put equal amount of focus on basic posture and technique with me as he does with his more serious music major students. He's obviously slower-paced with repertoire than other violin teachers who make students play a lot of pieces very poorly in a short amount of time. But each piece and etude I work on with him sounds like what I have never imagined myself would be able to sound like before. Now I know where the bow should be placed with what arm positions and muscle movements for the best quality tone production, and how the left hand should be framed and driven for secure intonation and flexibility, all thanks to Johannes. As long as you practice just the way he asks you to (which often requires you to be incredibly slow and patient), he'd never ever give up on you and never let you play poorly for years with no noticeable improvement! At first I felt as though I wasn't learning much, because he didn't give me a lot of fun pieces I really wanted to play. But 6 months to a year later, I sounded completely different and was able to play some pieces with much better tone and volume. As long as he's in New York, I'll keep studying with him.
I've been taking violin and voice from Sarah for over a year now, and I have seen vast improvements! I love visiting her studio on the UWS, it's a beautiful space to learn. Sarah's ongoing experience as a professional opera singer and musician always informs our lessons. It's very inspiring! I highly recommend studying with Sarah!
