Introduction: ***Located in New Paltz, NY*** Why should you hire me amidst the sea of so many other fantastic trainers? Well, that depends on what you are looking for out of our relationship. When people come to me they aren’t just looking for a personal trainer to tell them how to do a biceps curl. That’s something we go over, sure, but the reasons or the “why” run deeper. People seek out my training and guidance when they are lost, in pain, searching for a way to greatness, and trying to feel amazing in their bodies. People come to me when they can’t enjoy their favorite activities, people come to me when they are struggling with chronic illnesses, people come to me when they feel stuck and need a hand climbing up and out into a life filled with light and joy. When you work with me you get a holistic personal trainer; you get as much or as little as you ask for. You want someone to push you to hit a new max, help you run a 5k for the first time, or to keep it super simple to get started with a new routine you can stick to? I can do that. You want someone to develop a full exercise prescription with coaching, nutritional exploration, and personal development? I can give you that too. My background with a Master’s Degree as an Exercise Physiologist gives me in-depth insight and high level training into the body at all levels. My experience in cardiac testing and rehabilitation had helped me to develop a gentle yet firm approach to keep you safe AND get the results you are looking for. My time in research and coaching student athletes has developed my drive for excellence and my never ending thirst for knowledge. Cortney is a really special trainer. She listens, and helps me listen to my body and helps me understand what I need to do to get stronger, in better shape and most importantly - moving! She is intuitive, thoughtful, and has the right energy level. I am a 57 year old who HATES working out, and Cortney has motivated me and honestly I feel so much better since we started. In just 3 months, my constant back pain and body aches are so much better. She also shares lots of great ideas about health and wellness, diet, self care...and has a great roster of other services (like massage or other body work) if you need that. Finally, Cortney is flexible! She will come to you, do a video session, meet you on the rail trail or whatever works for you and your needs. I cannot recommend her highly enough!!

While being out of work during the quarantine I felt the need to reach out to a personal trainer for various reasons. I had the pleasure of getting a response from Cortney at Hudson Valley Peak Performance. In addition to the fact that she was very prompt to respond, she was also very thorough in finding out and understanding what my individual needs were. She went above and beyond to ensure that I felt comfortable every step of the way from signing up to the courses to the online classes to the one-on-one sessions and I felt that not only was she compassionate but extremely knowledgeable in all aspects of her field! She is genuine and truly cares about the people she works with...it's extremely rare to find these days most people are just about the money but with Cortney it's about your personal success. I would highly recommend to anyone who is looking to improve your health and well being to reach out to Cortney at Hudson Valley Peak Performance. You will not be disappointed!!!!

Cortney was an awesome personal trainer. I hired her to help me get in shape for my wedding, and she totally transformed my arms, legs, and overall physical endurance. Moreover she helped me completely boost my self-esteem and self-appreciation for my body. She kept work-outs fresh and new so the routine didn't get tedious, and she knew when to push me and when I'd reached my limit. I would highly recommend her!

Cortney is very professional and friendly! I was hesitant about signing up for a nutrionist, but I am glad I did. I look forward to working with her in the future. She signed me up to receive certain food to help me reach my goals and also offered to be my trainer. I was impressed by how dedicated she was to me. She stayed on the phone with me to make sure I understood everything and answered all of my questions while staying very positive and friendly.

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

    The first session is longer and includes more behind the scenes work so it does cost a bit more. You can purchase one off sessions or packages. I do four week packages at a discount because how we get the real work done!

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

    Our first session is a learning experience. It tends to take a bit longer as we both start to learn about the other. I start on the goal setting process the very first day while I get your health history and as much of your story as you are comfortable sharing with me. From there I like to do a mini workout. When possible I like to keep each part to 30-45 minutes each so we get some good, informative conversation going as a base for our relationship and a good workout in. The workout serves to give me an even deeper insight into the work we will be doing in the days and months to come. It also gets to be a great launch point for your fitness routine!

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

    Yes, I am constantly seeking new information to keep up to date in my training practices and so I may answer my clients questions more thoroughly or direct them to the correct resources.
