Roosevelt is a great service professional. He was prompt and polite throughout my sub zero refrigerator repair. When he had to revisit the problem (through no fault of his own), Roosevelt returned free of charge to help me assess the situation and repair the refrigerator again. I highly recommend him.

Great service. My dishwasher was broke so looked over on google and had a couple of people come check it out. They were useless and told me that I needed a brand new one. I then went on thumbtack and put the project. Sure enough, it matched me with Andy. Andy was very professional and responsive and very experienced. All I needed to give him was the error code and wallah. He knew what the problem was and told me that I needed a sensor. Btw this was all done on the phone. He ordered the part and came and replaced it and DONE!!!!! The dishwasher works like a charm. It is very hard to find trustworthy people these days and I will for sure recommend Andy for any appliance repair. He knows what he is doing and gets the job done. Thanks to Andy for saving me a ton of money on the dishwasher. If I hadn’t gotten a second opinion, I would have been 1000$ poorer today. Great work. Thanks Andy!!!! You rock!!!!

I needed my refrigerator repaired. I got a quote from P&T Appliance Repair. The manager called to confirm that the men were on the way. She was very polite and professional. Two men promptly showed up. They were courteous enough the take their shoes off before entering my house. They were extremely professional. A job they estimated would take 90 minutes took longer. They worked past their closing time without complaining and did not charge me anymore than they quoted. They cleaned up their workspace and made sure I examined their work before I paid them. I would definitely recommend them to other people and use them again if I ever need any repairs done. If you are in need of repairs, this is the company to call!

E J & Company did an excellent job under circumstances that were not ideal. They were the third business that made an attempt to repair a leaky waste pipe in my basement (and were successful). EJ & company came in, they had a lot to deal with! They did an excellent job in repairing a wire outage. I had them remove a ceiling fixture and then repair the ceiling fixture. They installed two bathroom vanity lights, and they installed ceramic tiles near them. They installed lamps and the switches throughout the whole house, they also installed the GFCI which is a circuit breaker designed to shut off electric power in the event of a ground-fault within as little as 1/40 . Overall EJ & Company did an exceptional job throughout my house! I would highly recommend it.

P&T guys were great! We have had the same problem with our fridge before and this was night and day difference from other repair people. Eugene from P&T ordered parts to complete the repair without upselling or overcharging me, he followed up after the first visit within days. They were very thorough and didn't rush and explained exactly what was wrong and what they were doing. The guys were easy to communicate with, and set up a same day appointment (both times), arrived right on time, cleaned up after finishing and charged a reasonable rate. I will gladly call them again and recommend them to friends.

I have a large two door U-line refrigerator freezer that was no longer getting cold. U-line Refrigerator Repair technician was able to come the next morning at 10 AM. The young repairman named Steven from the Extrem Experts was right on time and got started right away. After a few minutes of initial diagnosis, he determined the refrigeration unit needed to be recharged. Steven did the recharge quickly and efficiently and neatly. I was impressed how knowledgeable and confident he was in his work. I wished all repairmen worked as smart and efficiently as Steven did. He represents Appliance a Masters very well.

Last summer our Sub Zero Wine Cooler started flashing an error message and it was not keeping the right temperature. I was worried because it was a really hot and humid summer and we did not want any of our wine to get damaged by the heat. So we called up Sub Zero Repair New York, and set up an appointment for 2 day out. For New York that is pretty good. The technician showed up on time, and he seemed like a nice guy. His name was Victor. He hooked our Wine Cooler up to a machine to do some type of diagnostic. When he was done he told me that one of the fans in the wine cooler quit working, and it needed replaced. I told him to do it, and asked if he could try to get the wine cooler fixed as soon as possible, He said no problem, he would need to order a fan, but he could put a rush on it if I wanted to pay a little more. I said sure. He had the parts 2 days later, and returned to fix the unit. I was really impressed by his professionalism and how quickly he fixed our Wine Cooler. You could tell he made it a priority. Sub Zero Appliance Repair is a really great company all of their technicians are really professional and courteous I would recommend this company to anyone in need of appliance repair in the Houston area.

Steven was able to come the same day I called which was great because I was getting fed up with the loud and noisy sound my DCS vent hood was producing. He was so confident with his work and adviced us to replace the motor. The delivery of the part was quite quick and he kept me updated through out the delivery process and once it arrived he came around and carried out the installation quickly and efficiently. Would definitely recommend home repair appliance, they are professional.

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

                Who fixes refrigerators?

Typically, appliance repair technicians who offer refrigeration repair also work with washers, dryers, dishwashers and other household appliances. While there is no formal training required to be an appliance repair technician, consider certification requirements, as the technician should know how to safely work with refrigerants (the chemical that keeps your fridge cold) and substitute refrigerants such as HFCs. You should also read reviews to get a sense of the pro’s experience and reputation. The appliance repair pro will come to your home, bringing all the necessary tools for diagnosis. They may need to order parts to complete the job, but all the work will take place in your home. For more, check out our tips for smart hiring on Thumbtack.

How much does refrigerator repair cost?

Refrigerator repair generally costs a fraction of the price of a new fridge and shouldhave your appliance up and running again in no time. The problems your refrigerator is experiencing and the parts required to fix it will affect your repair costs. Where you live can affect labor rates, which will raise or lower your costs. Here are some examples of average costs:

                • Diagnostic fees: $50-$100. Repair pros often have a service call fee or diagnostic fee to account for their time traveling to your location with all their tools to assess the problem. If you choose to have them repair the fridge, most pros then credit this fee toward your repair cost.
                • Parts: $20-$500. A new compressor averages $200, an icemaker $300, and computerized components such as touch screens and control boards average $300 or more.
                • Basic repairs: $180-$400, including parts. This price range can include repairing the evaporator or fan motor.

                How long do fridges last?

Refrigerators can last 10 to 20 years, although the most common lifespan is about 13 years. If your fridge is acting up, consider its current age when deciding whether to invest in repairs or buy a new one. Common easy fixes include faulty thermostats, dirty coils and clogged drain lines. Thermostats and dirty coils can be generally be fixed for an average cost of $80-$100. Clogged drain lines, which usually cause leaks, can often be fixed for under $200.

More complex refrigeration repairs such as replacing a bad compressor or replenishing low refrigerant can cost more because of expensive parts and higher labor. A new compressor costs an average of $200, not including labor. If labor is an average of $75-$100 per hour, and the repair takes 3 hours, you’re looking at roughly $500. Consider the age and purchase cost of your fridge; investing $350 in a $600 fridge that is 8 years old may not be cost-effective.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
