FAQs
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I do a lot of staging for realtors when they are selling apartments or homes: It has been my experience that staging an apartment can often be done in a very reasonable amount of time and typically adds significant value to the seller by emphasizing the strengths and key qualities of the space and enabling the prospective buyers to see the property at its best. I also often work with clients to help them pick out colors for when they want to paint their apartment or home.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I designed an entire apartment around a dining room table; the client already owned a dining table which they absolutely loved and they expressed their desire to redesign their apartment around that treasured piece of furniture: a mid-century modern dining room table and chairs designed and constructed by Jens Rissom in 1948. They also wanted to introduce a more modern pattern than mid-century ideas, and to utilize current ideas and materials. I worked with them to redesign the entire one-bedroom apartment in a modern but practical style that makes day-to-day living both easy, beautiful and enjoyable. See one of my referrals online here for more details regarding this particular design project.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I recommend you meet with the designer in person and show them the property where you want the work to be done; that way you can make sure they understand exactly what you have in mind and you can check that you feel comfortable to work with them. Also, make sure they give a full and detailed description of what their work will include so you understand exactly what is included in their fee estimate.
