Josh is quick to respond and easy to schedule lessons with. His lessons themselves are super efficient and he truly takes his students' goals into account to help design practice sessions for them that will get them playing quickly and well. He's knowledgeable and knows how to infuse some basic music theory into his teaching.Mar 22, 2017Verified
I have always wanted to learn to play the guitar, so I decided to try to give it a go on my own last year. Watching youtube's, buying iphone apps but found myself not really gaining any momentum. My boyfriend bought me lessons for Christmas with Josh and I am so happy he did. Josh is incredibly thorough, insightful and taking classes with him has been a blast. He breaks it down and really helps you understand the fundamentals of playing the guitar. I'm several lessons in and I already feel like I'm miles ahead from when I started. I HIGHLY recommend Josh, he's a wonderful teacher and learning from him has been so seamless! - ALANAMar 31, 2015Verified
I had attempted to learn the guitar via YouTube for about 6 months and continued to struggle. Decided to give Josh a shot and have been thoroughly impressed. He is a young, down-to-earth normal guy with tons knowledge and enthusiasm. He actually listens to what I want to learn and structures his lessons and materials around this. He always comes well prepared and teaching comes natural to him. Overall extremely happy with Josh as a guitar coach (contrary to all the others I've tried!)Dec 20, 2014Verified
Josh is very patient and understanding, yet emphasizes fundamentals and makes you do things the right way. He is doing a double lesson with my son and me and we're learning a ton. He's terrific.Dec 8, 2014Verified

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Very simple, straightforward and very affordable!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I first like to find out a little bit about what their goals are. Some people just want to learn one song, some people want to learn a bunch of songs, and others want to learn the fundamentals so they can write their own music. I try to listen to the student as much as possible to make sure they are engaged and enjoying the process. We will not spend too much time on one type of song or skill to master it. Instead, I am constantly trying to push my student to something somewhat more difficult and to keep them on their toes. Then, when confronted with the more difficult task, the student already finds they are closer to mastering the previous one without thinking twice about it.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work? The best education when it comes to music is to listen. Listen as much as possible to different styles, etc.
