FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes N.A.S.M (NATIONAL ACADEMY OF SPORTS MEDICINE) has great continuing educational programs. Also follow/ study physical therapy and different therapist and there techniques and i also work as a trainer and aid in a physical therapy facility.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
From a young age I loved to train, especially when preparing for sporting event where i also discovered that I was a good motivator. When there weren't sporting events i would focus on how to transform my body to the way i wanted it to look. My dad was a trainer at the new york sports club and i observed him and other trainers encourage and coach each of their clients with different techniques and energy. The hook for me was the instant change in client attitude from the "I can't", "I wont" "I'm not doing this anymore" attitude to... "I can", "I will", "Hell no I'm Not Giving Up" attitude that to me was amazing, from then on I wanted to be a personal trainer. To go through analysis, to educate myself just the overall preparation for an individual (one on one) or individuals (group exercise) to train is awesome. There are some challenges and I love those especially.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Everyone must go through a functional movement assessment. this functional assessment or functional movement screening provides me with the valuable info needed in developing a program. This assessment documents movement patterns that are key to normal function. By screening these patterns, FMS readily identifies functional limitations and asymmetries. These are issues that can reduce the effects of functional training and physical conditioning and distort body awareness.
