Velma is perhaps the best professional I have ever worked with in my life for my physical well-being. As someone who was badly assaulted and then a few years later hit by a cab while walking, because of how bad my back was I had reached a point where much of the time I couldn't walk or do many basic chores, much less do the activities that made life worth living. Luckily I found Velma who is better than any PT person I ever dealt with. Velma saw me as an individual with individual body needs, and took a holistic approach to my healing as opposed to the cookie cutter approaches I experienced with almost every trainer or health professional working with me and my body in my many years of recovery. At this point, my doctors even prefer me working with her over the physical therapists they normally have used in the past. Because of Velma, and her unique combination of professionalism, positivity, encouragement, knowledge of the body, perspective, intuition, and insight, I am, after many years of recovery, finally able to be the kind of active person I used to be, working out regularly, dancing, walking miles and miles every day, among many other physical activities, instead of being someone who gave up on his life. It's actually not possible for me to say enough about how great Velma is at what she does.

Velma absolutely changed my life for the better. In a year, I've lost 40 lbs. Not only that, I feel better and my back pains have dramatically improved. She is the best in every way and I am so lucky to have found her. She tailored every workout to how my body feels reacts that day. And over time pushed me to accomplish milestones I didn't think I could achieve. She's still helping me to become my best self, which I am completely greatful for. Velma is the BEST!!!!!

Velma is great trainer and I believe one the most experienced and committed trainer, she is my first PT in NYC. I really enjoyed the variety of work outs and challenges she put in to the session. She was focused on helping me to achieve my goal and makes every session challenging.

I had been a long distance runner for 25 years before a torn meniscus brought me to Velma. That experience changed my life. Through careful, intelligent , step-by-step instruction, Velma easilt solved the meniscus problem but more importantly for me changed my entire focus concerning physical fitness. We worked together for 5 years before her promotion and the birth of her daughter. Velma is truly an outstanding personal trainer AND individual. Anyone would be fortunate to work with her.
