Introduction: My name is Nina Kassis and I have been teaching singing for the last 10 years. I hold a Masters Degree in Vocal Performance and attended Manhattan School of Music, the National Conservatory of Greece, and The American College of Greece, where I obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Musicology. I have worked with some of the leading voice teachers in the world including Mirella Freni, Mark Oswald and Mignon Dunn and am able to share the techniques and musical advice that I have learned from them. I truly believe everyone has a voice and it just takes patience and proper methodology to find it. I work with students from all different fields and ages, in all different genres from opera, to musical theater, to rock, pop and jazz. My teaching method is based on Bel Canto singing which teaches proper breathing with solid vocal projection that can and should be applied to all types of singing. I am passionate about teaching and helping others find their voice, as singing is an art form of true personal expression. I would be happy to help you on this musical journey!

He has improved vocally so much which has built up his self-confidence. His experience has been positive with Nina from the very start. She is patient, kind and very knowledgeable. Nina is an amazing professional, with a vast knowledge of the human voice. She is not your cookie cutter vocal instructor, she tailors her approach for each student, relentlessly pursuing the improvement of one’s vocal instrument. Additionally she has a vast knowledge of contrasting music and styles which is great as many instructors can be a little limited in that aspect. All in all I am incredibly satisfied working with her, and I definitely recommend her to anyone that is seeking improvement in their vocal abilities.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first lesson will be a consultation to see where the student stands vocally and we can then assess the course of action we will take in order to improve their technique.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Vocal Performance and have studied at the Manhattan School of Music and in Europe.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have been involved in music since the age of six while playing the violin and piano and then went on to study voice and classical singing. I have a true passion for teaching the art of singing and spreading the knowledge that I have gathered throughout the years.
