This is not your regular tutoring! This is brain science wrapped in an ACT lesson! I had my younger brother work with Katya for 6 months and she helped him make a huge improvement in his ACT Score. I have never seen my brother so happy with his results.

Our experience with Sarah has been fantastic! Sarah tutored my son in science and math and his average increased by at least ten points in each subject. In this year, his junior year of high school, my son averaged 95% for the year in his math course. Sarah is always well prepared, offers her own additional resources if she has them and suggests resources and where to obtain them on our own. She is always pleasant and upbeat and my son enjoys having her as his tutor. I would highly recommend Sarah as a tutor.

I have a passion for working with students of all levels, with a specific focus for working with Pre-Medical, Pre-Dental and Science related majors. I try to help students learn to think about the problem, rather than just memorize the answers.

My goal is to help students achieve their full potential. I love seeing my students succeed and easily do things that previously they thought (or were told) they are not good at. Everyone can do well in math, physics and chemistry. Everyone can achieve high scores on standardized tests. What is needed is clear instructions tailored to student's strength and weaknesses and regular practice. For some students, it also takes an approach different from the standard ones and maybe a little more time than for others. I tailor my tutoring style and techniques to individual student needs, to their learning style, their strengths and weaknesses. While majority of my students are middle and high school students, I work and have worked with students of all different ages and ability levels. I have over 15 years of teaching and tutoring and have helped hundreds of students succeed. Subjects I tutor: * Mathematics (K-12 through College) * Physics (K-12 to through College) * Chemistry (K-12) Standardized tests: (math, physics, science sections): * SAT * SAT II * Regents * ACT * GRE

About

I am a premedical college senior who tutors advanced science students. I specialize in regents-level chemistry and biology, college-level inorganic and organic chemistry, biochemistry, and MCAT 2015 (any section). I have received an A/A+ in all of the above science courses and a 521 (99th percentile) on the new MCAT, which I took in April 2015. I have experience tutoring students in these subjects and would be happy to provide references upon request. I have access to many resources (textbooks, practice questions and exams, and class notes) that I would gladly share with my students. I am also very familiar with the process of fulfilling premedical requirements and applying to medical school and would be willing to share any advice and information to fellow premedical students. I live in Brooklyn, NY, but would be willing to travel to a location of mutual convenience any day of the week.

I know insider strategies that will help your child to pass the Regents exam: * Including Strategies for Solving Particular Question Types * Pointing out Strategies for Questions that Appear Over and Over Again * Identifying and Correcting Your Weak Points, Through Practicing the Same Question Types Over and Over Again (We Will Practice Questions by Topic) * Top Calculator Strategies (Can Increase Score by Up to 10 Points for the Algebra or Geometry Regents!) * Strategies Not Found in Review Books or Review Sessions in Schools (Guaranteed!) My fee is $60-70/hour, and there is a 2-hour minimum. Since I am an expert, I will make sure that your child will not have to retake the Algebra/Geometry Regents during the summer. In each session, I will make sure that you have enough time to pass and practice. Here are some testimonials from past and current clients: "Mag. wanted me to let you know how she did on her Regent exams: 92 on bio and 88 on geometry! The bio regent grade helped bring up her average in the class to a 90, so she is very pleased! Thank you again for all your hard work!" "I got a 90 on the chem regents! I just wanted to let you know and thank you, thats exactly what i was aiming for, but even i thought that was a little impossible, but it was 100% because you helped me. So thanks so much." "Nihir is an excellent one-on-one tutor who explains things in a way that makes complicated issues seem more simple and easier to understand. His rapure with my daughter was comfortable and she felt completely at ease to ask questions and get the most out of her time with him. He has a plan for success and sticks with it." "Nihir was a godsend to our family! We called him at the last minute - based upon a friend's excellent referral - and he helped our daughter get an A on her 9th grade final math exam. We would recommend him without hesitation." "He just got his scores, and he got a 79 on the geometry regents and an 80 in his geometry class. Thanks a ton for your help. It meant a lot to him. I'll let you know more about next year in August" "I would highly recommend Nihir to anyone who is looking for a math tutor. I am heading to business school this fall and needed to brush up on my calculus skills. As an English major who hasn't taken a math class in 12 years, I wanted to make sure I found a tutor who was knowledgeable and patient. Nihir clearly explained how to approach each problem and answered all of my questions. I felt much more confident about my ability to solve calculus problems after working with him." "Quest passed Math he received a 75%. Definitely an improvement. Thank you for your help this year. I look forward to seeing you in September." "Please accept this note as recommendation for Nihir. My son had been struggling with math, which is why I hired Nihir to tutor him. Nihir has been tutoring my son for two years now and has made a tremendous improvement in my son's performance. He has passed each exam/test since Nihir started tutoring him. I highly recommend Nihir."
