Julia has been teaching my 13 year old for about 3 weeks. Although it is only been such a short period time, I can say without qualification that my son has improved beyond our expectation on each repertoire he plays, especially on certain bow movement techniques. She was able to access her students level accurately and get to the "to be improved" areas efficiently. One of the very unique characteristics about Julia is that she has excellent communication skills. She is precise, efficient, and very pleasant to work with. My son actually looks forward to have lesson her every week. On a separate note, she is such an accomplished violinist herself. Her Bach Bartita always make me forget all my worries, it never gets old -:) We have had a very positive experience with Julia. She is always very courteous and professional. I hope you can your family have the same experience!

I am very glad to find Julia as my son's private violin teacher. She tailors what to teach based on her student's level and prepares the materials very carefully. She also answers the questions from parents to address the concerns. Plus she speaks fluent Chinese which may be helpful for Chinese parents to communicate. She is excellent!!!

Ms. Glenn is a wonderful violin teacher. We had our first lesson and got right to business which was exactly what I had hoped for. Although I had been looking for a short term teacher I now feel that I wish to continue lessons with her.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am still a student myself, working towards my doctorate at Juilliard. As such, I still have my own violin lessons that I attend! The great things about music is that there is always more to learn, both in terms of your own playing and in terms of teaching in general.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with students aged 4-64, levels beginner to advanced. I enjoy working with a large range of students, whether their ultimate goals are to become professional or simply enjoy music as an important and enriching part of life.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Look for someone who truly loves to teach! In my opinion, it is also helpful to find someone who is passionate about performing AND teaching.
