He did a great job. Extremely patient and a thorough professional. Kids just loved his magic. Not only kids even the elders enjoyed his show. The guests were late to the party but he patiently waited for them to come and he spent extra time in the ballon twisting to make kids happy. I would hire him again for my twins birthday or for any get together. Most of the kids who came to our party want Mr. Jim for their birthdays to perform :) The Magical Mr.J is the Best!! You Rock the show!!!

Mike was awesome! All my wedding guests had a blast with the photo booth! So happy we chose the package with the book of photos so we can look back and laugh at all the craziness we missed. All of his props were clean and his setup was professional. He was great with all my guests as some of them took a liking to the ever so popular shark head. His pricing was reasonable as well. 10/10!

Mike followed up before the event, was completely accommodating to all of our changes and needs, and was a pleasure to work with. He's a skilled magician and has a very entertaining act. We held a casino night fundraiser with 35 tables of guests; he performed both table magic and an act on stage for us. I got a few quotes prior to hiring him, and his rates were very competitive. I'd highly recommend Magic Mike; he was a great addition to our event.

My experience involved a photobooth at my daughter's wedding and it was awesome! The wedding guests loved it! Brian did an excellent job and was very personable. Now there are many candid pictures (silly, sexy and unexpected photobombs ) for my daughter and son-in-law to treasure. A great job!

This was the first time I have ever rented a photo booth and wasn't very sure how it was going to workout with a wedding reception crowd, but K.M.R. photo booth staff was fun and professional and made it run smoothly, everyone had a great time and enjoyed the photo booth. I would definitely do this again, maybe for the family reunion!!

ACCSVP did the photography, videography, DJ, photobooth, slideshow and much more for our wedding three years ago! They were with us all day, from getting ready to walking out of the reception and everything in between! I cannot thank them enough and recommend them to anyone and everyone we know getting married! During planning, Kathie helped map out our wedding day. She went over things I would have never thought of! She even helped create a list of "shots" to be taken to get us in and out of the church quickly. Their work is absolutely gorgeous and the added touches are such a unique bonus! We also got the rights to all our photos which most places do not give you or you have an extra fee to get them. The photobooks we got with the edits and special touches are out of this world! The video allows us to go back and relive our special day, since it was such a whirlwind. We loved our DJ and got to go on a website to pick what songs we definitely wanted and did not want to hear. Our family and friends still talk about the great time they had in our photobooth!! A lot of people we know have rented the phootobooth for baby showers, weddings, graduation parties, birthday parties, etc. ACCSVP has the most bang for your buck and they are awesome to work with! Our day would not have gone as smoothly and would not have been as memorable without them! We use ACCSVP for everything! They did our baby shower and continue to take pictures of our daughter and family! They captured such special three generation and family pictures for us recently! Do not look any further, they are one stop shopping!

We hired John a couple years ago for our daughter's 5th birthday party. He was great! He performed a magic show that was both highly entertaining and appropriate for the party guests...adults and kids alike!! He even did balloon animals/characters! Very nice, very professional and definitely affordable in our opinion. Would definitely recommend him and absolutely hire him again! -Michelle L. (Massillon, OH. )

Vidabooth was awesome! We had them at our wedding last month and it ended up being a huge hit. Renting a photo booth was a last minute decision for us, but we're glad that we went with it. Their service was fantastic and I loved the fact that I was able to work with them to customize the prints to be exactly how I wanted. They went above and beyond for us and we couldn't have been happier.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

    What is a mariachi band?

Mariachi bands are rooted in Mexican culture. Traditional mariachi bands consisted of two or more members playing stringed instruments, wearing regional costumes adapted from the charro (Mexican horseman or cowboy). Modern mariachi bands, which are likely what you’re looking for when searching for a mariachi band for hire, feature at least four members who play stringed instruments (violin, vihuela, bass guitar called guitarron) and one or more trumpets. The costumes have remained the same, but now trumpets are synonymous with mariachi music. Mariachi bands for hire often play a wide range of music, including styles originating from Mexico and adopted from elsewhere. These include jarabes, waltzes, serenades, corridos (Mexican ballads), ranchera, cumbia, and more. Mariachi bands for hire bring a festive and soulful element to a party, birthday, wedding, corporate affair, fundraiser or community event. UNESCO has inscribed mariachi music on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

What is a photo booth rental?

A party photo booth is a fun, interactive experience where guests can take a series of photos (usually three or four) that are immediately printed out on a strip as a keepsake. When you rent a party photo booth, the company sets up the booth or photo station at your event; a photographer staffs the booth and coaches guests on how to use it throughout the event. Often the photo booth rental company provides props like silly hats, wigs and glasses. There are different types of party photo booth rentals. An open-air booth has a curtain or backdrop that allows more freedom of movement and enables more people to use it at one time. The traditional enclosed photo booths that you may have seen at the mall or the fair tend to cost more to rent, as they are harder to transport and also cost more for the pros to purchase. The national average cost for party photo booth rentals is $400-$500.

How many mariachis can a band have?

A mariachi band for hire can have as many players as you like. Modern mariachi bands typically have a minimum of four players with the trumpet playing a vital musical role along with stringed instruments such as the violin, guitarrón (a Mexican bass guitar with a deep body), vihuela (a Spanish stringed guitar) and guitar. Strong vocals are also an important component of mariachi bands for hire, since one or more of the players will be singing during the performance. For a truly spectacular show, you can hire a mariachi band with 15 or more players. The medley of stringed instruments, multiple trumpets, soaring vocals, and even an accordion or harp is powerful and beautiful. Mariachis typically wear the traditional costume of charros — Mexican horsemen. The look is a very regal, monotone suit, often in black or white, with silver adornments and embroidery. Mariachi bands often wear sombreros as well. Traditional mariachi bands were only made up of two or more players, according to a UNESCO report celebrating the cultural heritage of the musical style. The style of music originated in the state of Jalisco. Now the style of music is symbolic of Mexico but is celebrated all over the world, and adds a fabulous vibrancy to any group’s events, parties and weddings.

How much does a mariachi band cost?

A mariachi band will bring your party or event alive with their fabulous costumes, beautiful playing and strong vocals. The cost of a mariachi band for hire will depend on how many players are in the group. Each musician in a performance group needs to be paid, so pricing is usually based on the number of mariachis (musicians), the location of the event (and travel time required), and the length of the performance. Day of the week also affects cost, as does day — Christmas, New Year’s Eve and other major holidays will cost more than regular days. The national average cost for live bands of all types ranges between $740 and $1,200. Depending on where you live and regional rates for performers, you might expect to pay between $65 and $120 per hour, per player. Mariachi groups may have 12-15 players available for performance at one time, depending on your budget. Here are some examples of how the number of players affects average cost:

    • Four mariachis: $300 per hour for weeknights, $400 per hour for weekends.
    • Five mariachis: $350 per hour for weeknights, $400-$450 per hour for weekends. Weekends may have a minimum number of hours.
    • Six mariachis: $400 per hour for weeknights, $450-$500 per hour for weekends.

How much is it to rent a photo booth for a party?

Renting a party photo booth for your next event will get your guests engaged and provide a take-home favor for attendees. The cost to rent a party photo booth will vary depending on the type of booth, the day and time of year, the length of the rental, and any add-ons you select. The national average cost for party photo booth rentals is $400-$500. Here are some examples of average party photo booth rental costs:

    • Weekday packages: $300-$550, depending on features included and length of rental. A three-hour weekday package for $500 could include guest book, personalized photo strips and DVD of all the photos.
    • Weekend packages: $450-$700, depending on features included and length of rental.
    • Additional hours: $100-$150 per extra hour.
