Investigations America,Inc.'s reply
Im sorry you feel that way. We did a very thorough sweep of your home and found no listening devices or hidden cameras. Nor did we find any avidence of anyone "beaming" any transmissions into your home. A physical search of the interior of the building was conducted. This search included areas within the telephone room not directly related to the telephone lines, adjacent offices to the telephone room and areas above the ceiling tiles. The search was conducted in order to determine if any transmitters or other listening devices were present in the area, which would not be normally noted during a physical inspection by regular personnel. The physical search was also conducted in all of the offices previously listed. The search included filing cabinets, underneath desks, tables, chairs, as well as a search above the drop ceilings in order to determine whether any wires or devices of unusual nature were visible. No discrepancies were noted during the physical search. Several different tests utilizing an electronic counter surveillance device was utilized to determine if any transmitters or electronic listening devices were in operation within the area. The CPM 700 probe monitor as well as a frequency counter was utilized for this test. The first test conducted was to use the counter surveillance probe monitor, in order to detect and locate all major categories of electronic surveillance devices. Specifically, any that could be triggered on or off by remote transmission signals. A check was conducted for any transmitters, which utilize frequencies between 50 khz and 1 mhz and any audio frequency between 100hz and 1500 khz. If a transmitter had been operating in the area, a screeching feedback would have been noted as well as demodulation of the radio frequency. This test was conducted in all offices and the test results were negative. The counter surveillance probe monitor was also utilized to check all transmission frequencies previously mentioned as well as transmission signals of special modulation transmitters such as sub-carrier and signal side bank suppressor carriers. No discrepancies in this are were noted. The next test conducted utilized a power line carrier current detector in conjunction with the counter surveillance probe monitor. The test was conducted to determine whether there were any carrier current transmitters on the power lines. These devices are most familiar as wireless intercom systems sold in most electronic stores. When wired into any electrical outlet, they carry conversations using power line as common antennae. These devices are popular in Europe, commonly concealed in walls, outlets, television sets, radios, lamps, electrical bases, plugs, or anything that would plug into an electrical wall outlet. With these devices, conversation can be received up to ¾ of a mile from the origin of the conversation. The carrier current detector processes any radio frequency signal on the power line between the frequencies of 5 khz to 1 mhz. These frequencies are more than adequate to carry the usable range of such voice transmissions. No surreptitious listening devices were detected during this test. It was my understanding that you were happy with the results. Did you call our main number and leave a message or email us directly with questions. Perhaps there is a miscommunication but your review seems unduly harsh and I would appreciate a call during business hours at 440-614-0100 to discuss what we missed?
