I clean houses of all sizes very thoroughly as if they are my own home. I will dust, mop, wax, clean bathrooms and kitchens, and will do laundry as well. I love spring cleaning and organizing closets, cabinets, etc. I am very flexible and will bring my own cleaning supplies if needed.(show more)
What do you love about your job?
I love the effect that organizing a space has on my clients. Working side-by-side with a client to declutter and organize their space is very rewarding because we get to see a dramatic change and know we accomplished something that will make their lives a little easier. My favorite part is communicating with clients a few days later to find out how excited they are to finally be able to walk into the space, use it, and enjoy it, with less anxiety and more peace.
What or who inspired you to start your own business?
I was thoroughly disillusioned and discouraged by my previous career in quality assurance for a large retailer. I wanted to do something that could help someone make a positive change in his or her own life. Around this time, I found an online training program with a mission to help aspiring organizers establish their own businesses. This seemed like the perfect solution, as I enjoyed sorting, clearing out, and organizing spaces, both as an assigned task in my previous career and on my own.
Describe your most memorable project.
My first session with a lady we'll call Miss Louise, who hired me for four hours to work on her dressing room, is my most memorable project. It was a small bedroom with a reach-in closet, plus a full wall of hanging storage. She wanted me to clear off her dressing table and to make some meditation space in the room. During the next four hours, I did a lot of sorting and putting away of clothes, shoes, boots, and accessories, and she spent the time working on paperwork and making calls in another room. When I was at a good stopping point, I asked Miss Louise to come in and see. As she walked in the room, her eyes got really big. She then started squealing, "Miss Julie! You found them! You found my shoes!" Since then, Miss Louise has become my favorite client and a friend. I've worked on other projects for her and with her, and she's always pleased with the results.
