10/26/2017-Mold Removal Services (Included Black Mold) in unfinished basement area surrounded by block. Home built around 1940: I am giving this contractor 5 stars in all areas. Work Quality was excellent, Professionalism, Responsiveness, Value, and Punctuality. This contractor was really great to work with and very flexible to meet the needs of my schedule. The pricing cannot be beat and the quality of the work is not affected by the great pricing. This contractor was very knowledgeable in their area and was able to inform myself and my family of what to expect and the reasons why it was important that we had the mold removal done. The benefit to me was the cost savings and quality work making my family surroundings safe after moving into our recently purchased home. The knowledge base was an extra bonus and the process was clearly explained and followed which lent itself to true transparency which you typically do not get with the average contractor, because you get caught up in the "extra fees not disclosed". *One point to make is that you may want to have them work on a day when you will not be in the house with family as the fumes may be bothersome to others. But this is not a necessity.* Honestly this contractor should charge more as they are worth it. Highly recommended to friends and family. Will be using on other projects next year.
We had a white mold problem in the utility room in our basement. Emailed MP and receive a prompt reply and service. The service was done promptly at a fair price. The area was cleaned up nicely and I would use MP again if needed.
Tony was outstanding! Very thorough, technical, and professional. Would definitely recommend to all.
Michael and his crew of two removed a small amount of mold from a finished basement closet, repaired the area that had been damaged by mold, and helped me resolve the water problem that caused the mold. The quality of the work is excellent, and I was especially impressed with his crew members, who came up with a solution for the water problem that saved me quite a bit of money. Michael is a very friendly and engaging guy. He could have been more responsive to bidding and finalizing the scope of project, but I contacted him just as he was about to be on vacation, and expect that explains some of the initial confusion.
We had a sump pump failure and our entire finished basement was under several inches of water. I contacted SafeHouse Solutions due to a referral and Iâm so glad I did. I called late on a Sunday night, Nancy answered and set me up with an appointment right away. They professionally and efficiently helped us take care of the water removal, remove damaged drywall and flooring; they also helped us with an unknown existing black mold issue. They only charged us what we were originally quoted but absolutely went above and beyond what they were called in to do. The insurance agent that came to our house to assess the damage also had really nice things to say about them as well. They are a family run business that truly made me feel well taken care of. I hope I never have a flooding issue again but if I do I will absolutely be calling Nancy, Michael, and Christian with SafeHouse Solutions again.
This is going to be long, prepare yourself Ill try and keep the history short: 1) Move into the house after remediation was supposed to have taken care of: a. Mold in the attic b. Clogged soffits c. Bathroom vent being vented directly into the attic Fast forward 6.5 years: 1) We have water getting into our bedroom and I crawl into the attic to find the source (the vent stack 2) I notice that the ceiling is rather black and suspect the either the mold has returned or the original company didnt do such a good job of removing the mold previously 3) I fix the leaking vent pipe myself but I call out a roofer to get their opinion of the situation in the attic 4) He agrees we have poor ventilation and need to remediate the mold and we discuss various items on a hit list of things to fix I begin researching and learn a lot more than I ever expected about attics, mold and proper ventilation. We decide that the obvious first step is remediation and then fixing the smaller (and bigger) jobs. My wife does a quick search for our city and mold removal. I am expecting to call several places and have several visits (I like doing at least three) with several quotes/estimates following. I make my first call at around 7pm in the evening and I speak with Ed at ABC Mold Removal. Its immediately apparent that Ed knows his stuff and their business. After I hang up with him not only do I have a verified handle on the research Ive been doing myself I have an estimate in my email well below what I was expecting to hear, a complete rundown of what will happen when they come to our home, an even better idea of the various items I need to fix/update to KEEP the mold from coming BACK as well as two of the items off my list included in the estimate namely: 1) pulling back the blown in insulation from clogging my soffits which was, obviously, never done when we moved in and 2) correctly venting the bathroom vent to the outside and not just up to the ridge vent. He also recommends I look into updating the ridge vent we do have as these have been updated and improved dramatically since the one we have was installed. I like the quote and agree with all that needs done and I call him back later and schedule a date. He says he can be out within about 3 days which actually was too soon for us and we moved that out about 7 days (on a Saturday). Fast forward once again to the day of the job: 1) They arrive on time. They stated between 7:30am and 8:00am and they arrive a few minutes before 8am. a. At this point, I have to mention two things that struck me: 1) they greet me professionally and call my Mr. Strauss even though weve already exchanged first names. This continues throughout the day and 2) they remove their shoes. No prompting, no booties, no asking if they should they just did it. All day long, in and out to bring in equipment. Some people might be saying, well, they should. I would tend to agree if it werent for the fact that Ive had work done on my house previously cable, front door, basement heater, etc. None of them just came in and removed their shoes. None. 2) Their setup takes about an hour and half and includes putting plastic down in the room where the access hatch is (our daughters closet), plastic down the hallway they have to come in and out of and a triple plastic barrier at the entrance into the room. They also close up the whole house fan and then, at long last, look into the attic to see what its like. a. I was leery up to this point that they had yet to ever set eyes on my attic and the condition it was in. But they knew their stuff and came completely prepared for anything. They said it didnt look bad and estimated that theyd be out by 1 or 2 in the afternoon. (spoiler: they were leaving my drive at 2:30pm after cleaning up completely and having a small chat with me and, of course, getting paid). In speaking with Ed later, during our chat, he told me that ABC Mold Removal has been doing this kind of work for thirteen (13) years and theres a reason for that: they do a fantastic job! The black, stained attic looked like new wood. The soffits? I could see daylight through them when I went up. The bathroom fan? Vented completely to the outside. Steve the second person on the job did this work even though it was fairly cold out and there was some snow on the roof too. Did I mention Steve comes from a family of 5 roofers? Did I mention that Ed came prepared for anything? The only thing we have left to do is to weatherproof any heat exchange points into the attic from the house and to install a new ridge vent (going with Eds suggestion of Shingle Vent II after watching a video online of how well it works). So, in a nutshell? Highly, highly, highly recommend Ed and ABC Mold Removal to anyone who has the unfortunate need for this service (which is probably more of us than we realize).
Everything went smoothly! They arrived at the time they stated they would. They worked quickly and completed the job in a timely manner. I would highly recommend this company as a safe and effective way of removing mold from your house.
I hired Jon Holnapy to do a home inspection for me on one of my houses. He was very thorough, professional, and meticulous. He also provided me with a very detailed report and would highly recommend him to anyone who may need this service done on their home.
ServiceMaster by Disaster Recon provided excellent service to our flooded basement. Our unexpected sump pump backup was met with incredible response time by the water mitgiation team. My husband and I were continually impressed through the whole process by the team's knowledge and drive to get our basement dry as soon as possible. With their expertise, our basement suffered no serious damage that can come with a flood, such as mold or mildew. Without hesitation, I sincerely recommend ServiceMaster by Disaster Recon as your first call for any home or building-related disaster.
Gil met with me and my wife. We had a pleasant conversation and decided to go with his group to remove our mold and waterproof out basement. They were very quick, they cared about our property, and they had reasonable pricing. Thank you so much Airguard for making our home safe.
Scott was knowledgeable and professional when I called him. Although he was unable to make the 1st appointment we scheduled, he rescheduled with our property manager and came back to do the inspection. His estimate was very comprehensive and the price was reasonable. I would recommend him.
Lisa does a verygood job and is avery nice person.
They came in very professionally, found the problem and removed the mold from my basement. Then they sealed the walls to help prevent anymore growth. They also gave me suggestions on keeping mold from recurring.
Chad was great to work with during my water damage crisis! Professional, courteous, and knowledgable from beginning to end. He went above and beyond making sure all bases were covered: from documenting the damages, to thoughtfully positioning the blower fan to avoid excess dust & mess in my living room and making sure everything was tidy when he left. He patiently answered all of my questions and informed me of his process. With his kind and trustworthy demeanor, along with his knowledge and attention to detail, I would definitely recommend Chad for a job well done. Thanks again!
