Jennifer is a wonderful Reiki practitioner. She is full of love and shares it willingly. I have had a shoulder injury and when she gave me Reiki, the shoulder warmed up and the stiffness eased. She always returned my call promptly and was easy to schedule with.

I have taken both Reiki sessions and Access Bars sessions and absolutely love it. I feel clear, refreshed, and renewed after my time with Andrea. This is definitely a worthy experience for my spirit and soul.

I use many different forms of healing techniques to help each individual with their special needs.

Reiki is a healing and relaxing technique that calms the body, mind, and spirit. Reiki combined with the Raindrop Technique help balance the electrical system within the body. Essential oils embody the regenerating, oxygenating, and immune-strengthening properties from plants with very powerful antioxidants. From relaxing spastic muscles and soothing the nerves to relieving aches and pains, it also strengthens your immune system.

We specialize in deep tissue bodywork, Reiki and healing touch energy work. Clients have the option to shower after a massage. We have an inversion table which is used for lengthening the spinal column. We also have a Sara gym available as well as a chi machine.

No one does -exactly- what I do in that there is no one in the area with my complete background in body-centered energywork and my outlook on life and spirituality. I know the body from being a dancer and did a lot of hands-on therapeutic work first, originally training in Swedish and Thai massage and shiatsu at the Swedish Institute College of Massage & Allied Health Services in New York City. I studied Rosen Method Bodywork intensively in the East and first began my Reiki studies there. Right now, no one offers CCT/Rosen psycho-spiritual bodywork in this area and to my knowledge I am the only Reiki Master Teacher who is also a CCT Energy Master. and former massage therapist. I am happy to have students from all walks of life who use Reiki.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is Reiki and how does it work?

Reiki is a type of wellness bodywork, often referred to as energy work, that originated in Japan. Reiki practitioners offer this traditional healing technique with the intent of manipulating the flow of energy through the client’s body. Unlike massage, Reiki uses minimal — if any — pressure, focusing on stimulating energy flow rather than working the soft tissue and muscles. This movement of energy is done to improve mental, emotional and physical health. Reiki is touted for its stress relief and ability to ease tension. It can also improve mental clarity, release stress and tension, manage pain, or help with spiritual growth. It is said that Reiki practitioners act as a channel for a universal life force to help support a client’s natural ability to heal. Reiki sessions often last 30 to 90 minutes, with prices varying based on session length, background and experience of the provider, and where you live. Nationally, the average price range for a Reiki session is $60-$80.

Where does Reiki energy come from?

Reiki is a form of bodywork that involves the “laying on of hands” to heal. In Reiki, a client lies down, clothed, and allows the energy worker to pass their hands slowly over their body, sometimes physically touching the body and sometimes hovering above it, to help create healing movement in their energy. This movement of energy is said to help the body’s natural ability to heal itself.

According to the International Association of Reiki Professionals, the practice of Reiki was developed by Dr. Mikao Usui in the early 1900s. The doctor sought to create a healing practice that wasn’t attached to any religion or religious belief so that all people could use it. The healing power of Reiki is said to come from a universal life force, and the Reiki practitioner is like a channel or conduit for the healing energy that is present in all living organisms. The Reiki practitioner can sense energy blockages and help restore flow, which in turn can help create emotional, physical, spiritual or mental wellness.
