Darren is the consummate professional. He was always responsive in the planning stages. His photography of our event was both creative and thorough. Darren worked the event seamlessly capturing both posed and active shots. He was obliging and flexible shooting color and black and white pics. The guests were impressed with his enthusiasm for his work and his friendliness. After viewing his work product I would eagerly hire Darren again.

Mitch photographed my wedding for 3 hours. He did a great job and people told me he did a good job without even seeing pictures. They must've noted him taking a lot of pictures. The pictures were awesome and he had his own lighting equipment and everything. He's nice and funny. We lost the wedding shots list the day of so he came up with his own ideas on the spot. All for the fraction of the price of other photographers online. I recommended him to a friend of mine getting married in a couple months and I'll probably ask him to do portraits in the future.

Edward and Carol were fantastic to work with throughout the entire process. I literally love every single shot. They arrived, set up, worked with my family of 7 (and 3 unruly dogs) and were gone in and hour. They are the most pleasant yet professional team of photographers I’ve worked in a long time. I will use them again and have already recommended them to all my friends.

Darold was the first photographer to respond and his portfolio showed us exactly what we were looking for. Our project was super spur of the moment and had some curve balls thrown in there, but Darold responded with professionalism and just made it happen. We also received our photos very quickly, which was needed to meet a company deadline! We would recommend him to anyone!

Sand Plum was the best choice we made for our wedding. Both of their photographers were incredibly kind and warm - from the first time we sat down to talk about our needs, all the way to the last person on the dance floor. Their photos were superb. They delivered every moment we needed captured, plus the candids that my wife loves. You only get married once - be sure you've hired Sand Plum!

David was fantastic! He was professional, communicated well, and was excited to be at the wedding. He even texted us a preview of unedited photos before the reception and his work was incredible. We couldn't have wished for a better photographer to capture the special day! Thank you so much, David!

Christine took my senior pictures when I graduated from college and she took my bridal pictures when I got married. She is an excellent photographer and is especially good at using natural light to focus the pictures. She is also good at capturing the personality of the people she photographs. She took some of my favorite pictures of me and my sister and I have them framed and displayed in my house. I highly recommend Christine for all of your photography needs.

Not only is the time that she spends with us very enjoyable, it is also a very relaxed experience as Ana manages to take phenomenal photos of you and your family . She is a lovely person and a great photographer. We cannot recommend her highly enough. You just need lots of wall space in your home for all the photos as it's impossible to choose! Lisa

Minimal editing, which is a plus. Most digital photographers edit their images far too much! Also, speedy at getting your images to you. I didn't wait hardly any time! Lastly, willing to be as creative as you want her to be. She will make your experience unique!

    About

I photograph anything, from senior pictures to weddings. I have photographed many weddings around Arkansas and Oklahoma. My session fees are low and the quality is excellent! I interned as an assistant photographer and I am now starting my own business. I like to make photo-shoots fun and unique. Have you ever looked at other's family or senior pictures and thought, "These all look the same." I try to make each session different and find new places to shoot, so that your pictures won't turn up looking just like your friend's. At the end of the session or wedding, I edit all the pictures in Photoshop and then put them on a CD. I find that giving a CD is an easy way for you to select your own picture sizes and you can get them printed off anywhere. I live right outside of Fort Smith, AR. I will travel up to 2 hours for a wedding or session. For weddings, I charge $300. Engagement and bridal pictures are a separate $40 charge each. You can see some of my work on my Facebook page (Kristina Andrews). If you'd like to set something up, I do have pictures I can show you in an album.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost for a photographer for a wedding?

Finding the right wedding photographer can make a big difference for your ceremony. Nationally, the average wedding photographer’s price ranges from $800 to $1,000, but costs can be much higher in areas like Chicago, New York or Los Angeles where some couples spend $2,000 to $5,000 or more for the photographer they want. Factors that can affect your wedding photographer prices include the photographer’s reputation and experience. Heavy hitters can command top rates, especially during wedding-season weekends. Day of the week also affects your cost. You may get a $200 discount on wedding photographer prices if you get married on a Friday in November rather than a Saturday in June. Time onsite is also an important cost factor. Hiring a photographer to snap photos from the moment you wake up until after last call at the reception is going to cost more than five hours of pictures during the day. Multiple photographers, special lighting, and videography will also increase your costs. Ultimately you want to find someone who has a style you love and can provide the number of edited shots you want for a price you can handle. Learn more about hiring a wedding photographer.
