Bob did several small jobs for our family. He was great at communicating. He took pride in his work and worked very hard to get my paint & stain colors to match existing in the home. He did an excellent job refurbishing exterior lights so that they look better than brand new. I'd strongly recommend giving Bob a call for any home improvements.

Greg Pearce is an great guy. He is also very professional when it comes to doing business. He listens to the customer and then ask questions so that he understands exactly what the customer needs in order to accomplish a specific goal. For instance, his company painted the inside of our house. Greg personally measured all the rooms so that he could give us the most accurate estimate. My wife and I really appreciated that. His company also power washed the outside of our home and did some lawn care as well. It was all good work and was performed in a timely fashion. DBM is a reputable company and Greg Pearce is trustworthy. He is willing to make things right with the customer. Go with Greg Pearce and DBM.

Loved working with Terri! She came to my home for a consultation and understood what I needed done immediately! She returned two more times with her assistant Mallory and they went right to work and helped me put the finishing touches to rooms that I needed decorated. And at a very reasonable cost also! Also gave me some advice on with some future decorating questions I had. Overall very pleased and happy with my experience with Terri and would hire her again!

Marcos did a excellent job replacing siding that had ripped off of my house in a storm and matching the paint to paint it. He was quick to respond and arrived early. I was at work while he did the repairs and he kept me posted by sending me pictures of the progress. I highly recommend him!

Gabe doesn't promise anything he can't deliver. He takes pride in his work and it is reflected in the quality and craftsmanship of everything he does. His first project for us was building a pergola to add to our deck. We get harsh west sun and wanted something open, but also something that added some shelter. We use all the time. It's better than we ever expected. Our next project was a major remodel of our master bathroom. I smile every time I walk in. Everything from the tile to the shower to the tub to the sink. He did a fantastic job. Gabe hires great subs, when necessary, and they are equally as professional. He helped us find a reliable painting contractor that did an excellent job painting our house, and found another crew to refinish our kitchen cabinets. We are very pleased and will definitely hire R Shields Construction for our next project(s)! --Dana Box and Lucy Dolman, Sand Springs, Oklahoma

Matt has built a deck, painted several properties for me, and also has done all cabinetry and trim work for me for the last several years. His work is top notch. He refuses to cut corners and it shows in the final product. I wish I had more for him to do. His work makes me look good and is typically what gives me repeat customers. He's currently working on a set of alder cabinets and they are beautiful to say the least. Keep up the good work, looking forward to working with you.

About

I do interior and exterior painting, stripping and hanging wallpaper, hang light fixtures, put in toilets, sinks, and faucets, and more. I'm hard working, dependable, and honest.

About

My name is Presto, and I am offering painting/landscape services. For interior and exterior painting, estimates are figured using a formulated software that is updated every month, and price varies in different states. Cost is calculated by paint and material plus labor at $1.25 - $2.63 per sq ft (may differ depending on job). Estimate includes (prep work), pre-power wash (exterior), then scraping old paint, replacing rotten wood, sanding and caulking. The exterior gets two coats of paint. I offer top-quality work from years of experience. I do full-detail landscaping work, including cutting and edging, rock, stick and trash removal, rake and bag leaves tree limb removal, also offer weed killers. I never cut your grass in the same pattern, leaving you free of lawnmower track marks. I'm making sure your yard looks better and better every time I'm back. No job is too big or too small. My estimates are free (painting and landscape), and the work is guaranteed satisfaction with a 30-day warranty only on painting. A Little About Me I am not a salesman, so I will not hire a subcontractor. I will be doing the job and making sure it is satisfactory and complete, from start to finish. The start of my business depends on my work, and your business is greatly appreciated to me. My goal is to serve 100% satisfactory work and gain a positive reference from every single customer. In my career history, I have worked as a technician and have just returned from Texas as a general contractor for a company restoring hail-damaged homes. I love what I do, and I'm sure you will too. Call, text or email.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much do painters cost?

The national average cost for an interior painter ranges between $450 and $900. Interior painters can tackle everything from complete color makeovers in each of your rooms to touching up an accent wall to painting pieces of furniture. The square footage and complexity of the project, along with the materials needed, are the main factors that will affect cost. Other factors include whether you supply the paint yourself or want the painter to do so, whether you move the furniture and do the prep work or ask them to do it, and whether any repair work is needed on the walls. Painting the ceiling and the trim will also have an effect on cost. The type of paint you choose can also raise or lower your house painting cost. A gallon of paint may range from $20 to over $100, depending on quality and brand. Ask your painter if they charge per hour or per square foot, and how much you can save by doing prep work (moving furniture, etc.) yourself.

How much does it cost to paint the interior of a house?

Interior house painting costs are calculated on a few key factors. Nationally, interior house painting projects range from $200 to $2,500. The wide price range indicates how much square footage, paint selection and labor can affect cost. One pro uses a laser to measure each room, subtracting the size of the doors and windows, and then bases the quote on the square footage of the actual surfaces to be painted. Painters may provide you with savings if you opt to paint your entire home rather than just having one room or an accent wall painted. For example, the average house painting cost for an 8x12 room with 8-foot ceilings is roughly $200, when contractor-grade paint is used. Painting ceilings, baseboards and frames can also affect cost. Pros may charge per linear foot to smooth and paint baseboards. In one area pros might charge 50 cents per linear foot to paint baseboards, while pros in another part of the country could charge $1.50 per linear foot for the same task. Painters may charge flat rates for painting door and window frames, with one charging $20-$25 and another $60 per door. Geography and regional costs to do business play a major role in the cost of interior painting. The same painter in a rural region has less to pay in taxes, transportation, insurance and overhead than they would in a major city like New York.

How much does a painter charge per room?

The cost to paint a room will vary based on the size of the room, the type of paint you select, any ceiling or trim work needed, and any repairs needed. If no repairs or other additional work is needed, painting a room with contractor-grade paint could range from $1 to $2 per square foot, including materials. Selecting a luxury paint (some cost more than $100 per gallon) will certainly increase your house painting costs. Here are some additional examples of average house painting costs, per room:

  • 12x12 room with a 9-foot ceiling: about $125
  • 12x12 room with an 8-foot ceiling: about $100
  • 14x16 master bedroom with a 9-foot ceiling: about $150
  • 14x16 master bedroom with an 8-foot ceiling: about $125
  • 16x16 living room with a 9-foot ceiling: about $175
  • 16x16 living room with a 20-foot ceiling: starting at $225
