Good communication but the service provider immediately talked me out providing the service I requested. I live in a rural area so my options have been slim to have someone address my issue. I was told to just buy a new appliance from Walmart instead of him coming to look at my $550 custom built in microwave. I immediately cancelled my appointment as I was extremely disappointed

Details: Microwave oven • GE • Residential

Sophie’s Choice's reply
Not really how that went down. She asked me about if I could repair a microwave and then asked me if she would be better fixing it or replacing it. I have no idea what microwave she has or how much it’s worth and so I did what a GOOD repairman does and gave her options. I told her that I could come out and look to see if it was repairable but that Walmart has microwaves cheap so I left it to her to decide if she wants to spend the hourly rate to come way out there where there would be a min charge due to the distance or if it was worth it to her to buy a new one. She got mad that I answered the question she started with. Would it be better to repair or replace. I am sorry that she feels that answering the question she asked me angered her but had she just said “no I have a $500 microwave so I would prefer to get it repaired we would be done by now and it would be fixed or replaced but it appears she didn’t say what she wanted which was not “which would be better, replace or repair” and said I want to get my appliance fixed. I had no idea how much her appliance was worth so I gave her options. This appears to be someone who blames everyone else when she’s not happy. I have had this same conversation with many customers who usually choose to either hire for the repair OR look for themselves which would be better since I have no way of knowing how much her appliance cost.
