FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Every sewing and alterations project is unique with many variables that determine the cost. Please contact me to schedule your free consultation and cost estimate.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I took my first sewing class at the age of 12 and learned all about fabrics while working at my family's fabric store during high school and college. I have been sewing throughout my life. As a professional, I know the advantages of staying on top of the trade by continuously learning new techniques and skills. I take online tutorial courses, collaborate with other sewing professionals, and refer often to my large library of sewing and alterations books for additional guidance. I've learned that no matter how experienced and knowledgeable you are at your trade, you can always find new and better ways to improve your skills.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have enjoyed sewing for most of my life. My three daughters loved that I could sew their one-of-a-kind formal dresses in their choice of style, fabric, and color. I designed and sewed a wedding dress for my oldest daughter ten years ago and have been hooked on bridal sewing and alterations ever since.
