Describe your experience working with Rich Platz. Please be specific.
I am a classically trained percussionist specializing in teaching drum set, cajon, doumbek, and tabla. I have been playing drum set for 15 years and received a formal music education from Douglas Anderson School of the Arts. My goal is to provide the student with a wide range of rhythmic concepts and techniques while helping them develop their own personal style. My lessons include equal emphasis in theory and improvisation. I have played in formal orchestral settings as well as jazz, rock, and folk bands in North Florida. My interest in drumming has directed me toward many of the traditional styles, including North Indian classical, Balkan, and Persian music. With my strong background in theory, years of performing as a soloist and with groups, and persistent studying of drum set technique, I can help make you the player you want to be while having fun in a comfortable setting.
I am a solo music entertainer, and I teach lessons. I can teach drums and singing up to an advanced level.
I offer down to earth explanations of various techniques and strategies for guitar and basic music theory. Step by step, I will guide you through the process of learning things like scales and chords, and explain how and why they go together to create a cohesive learning experience that will leave you with a thirst for more.

Matthew Edewaard now offers music lessons. Matthew William Edewaard (born April 13, 1990), known by his mononym Edewaard, is an independent American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, touring artist, and producer. He has written, performed, recorded, and published 6 albums; 4 of which Edewaard produced himself. Edewaard's music is often noted as being reflective of classic rock/pop and new wave, carrying influences reminiscent of artists from the late '70s and early '80s. The albums are typically riddled with short, punchy, melodic tracks focused heavily on the lyricism. Edewaard is also a songwriter and producer for the New York based, nonprofit organization, Songs of Love; dedicated to providing personalized songs for children and teens facing tough medical, physical, or emotional challenges. Edewaard continues to tour and recruit talented young musicians for his live band. You can find Edewaard's music on Pandora, iTunes, Spotify, and Rhapsody. Testimonials: "Edewaard has a sound that is both all their own, yet eerily familiar." -Convozine "Smooth, melodic, & laid back sound that I just eat up." -Skope Magazine If I had to describe this band's sound with just one word, it would be 'rich'. The songs straddle the line between rock & pop, but it's the textures that really grab the attention; you don't so much listen to these songs as you find yourself surrounded by them." - Incognito Magazine
