FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pretty straight forward, simply pay what the quote shows. No hidden costs, no dings, nothing fancy. If you ARE one of my first responders, I may ask you to consider making a donation to a chaplaincy cause dear to my heart rather than paying me. Please ask me for details :)
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I meet face-to-face prior to the rehearsal to hear the bride/groom stories to get a feel of what they want in a wedding ceremony so I can taylor-fit my part to their wants and needs. I meet with them to be a sounding board for them on their ideas and offer advice when asked. The advice is generally more related to the success long term of the marriage than to the ceremony per-se, but I am open to advise in that as well. I have a requirement that the couple has pre-marital counseling prior to the marriage. I promise this is worth what ever scheduling conflict that may create short term, for a better marriage long-term. Think of it as an investment for a long and loving marriage. My specific ministry license is for marrying Christians in a heterosexual marriage. If writing your own vows, I like to get a copy of them prior to the day of rehearsal. I prefer to be at a rehearsal a day or more prior to the wedding when possible in order to make certain the ceremony runs smoothly on that most important day (including me for a meal is not necessary however).
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
While one of my BA Degrees is in Religious Studies and I did attend a major SBC seminary, I am also constantly training to sharpen my skills. Though most of my more recent training is specific to providing emotional, spiritual, and psychological first aid related traumatic incidents there are lessons that can be applied to lives before the bumps in life come out way.
