We have been working with Ian from Phoenix Habitats for the past year and it's been a great experience!
The work on our property (restoration work of riparian and forest habitats backing up to Johnson Creek) has been paid for through a grant with the EMCSWD and Ian has taken care of setting up that grant as well as helping us schedule and prioritize work that fits within the grant parameters. He writes his bids to the grant, and recommends parts of the plan that can be done as volunteer hours to help us with our match. As someone who is not great with details, it's been so super helpful to trust that all of that is taken care of, and to know what to focus my own work on and what's best left to the pros.
He has been both very professional and also very relatable. Whenever we've had questions or ideas we've felt comfortable reaching out and he always gets right back to us with quality responses.
His crews have been super pleasant and done great work both removing invasive species (especially Holly and Ivy) as well as planting new native species to take back the land.
We're moving forward this year with a new phase of the project and without us even asking Ian offered to get the grant renewed for us. Looking forward to seeing it all move forward!
