I cannot even put into words how much Nancy has helped me. I have known her for over 15 years and she has been a life coach for me through my toughest times and never gave up on me. She has done so much for me from helping me write papers to helping me through family struggles. She helped me quit smoking many years ago by helping me deal with my stress in healthy ways such as working out and making general healthier choices. I would highly recommend Nancy to anyone looking for a life coach, a tutor, or a personal trainer! I am now a successful professional in the dental field and I feel like I owe so much to her!

Thorough, accomodating, professional. We found Mr Judkins a thorough gentleman, taught my daughter English Ap 2. He always accomodated us into his schedule though he was very busy himself. We had no confidence in skype sessions but he made my daughter ease into them. She benefitted greatly from his knowledge and expertise. We intend to use his services for my daughter's admission process too.

I have taken private musical composition lessons with Susan for over two years. Susan is a professional sound designer, musician and artist of the highest caliber. She has an incredibly in-depth knowledge of her field and a highly intuitive sense for teaching the arts (a notoriously difficult subject area to teach), coupled with a subtle knowledge of how to encourage a student’s creativity by providing just the right amount of direction. Susan has helped me immensely with organizing the scope and meaning of projects, thinking way outside of the box (a great specialty of hers), and providing energy, encouragement, and ample reference points for further study. Her wonderfully cheerful, comfortable and nurturing manner makes it a delight to work with her. Susan always gives freely of her time and energy, above and beyond the call of duty. She is an inspiring artist, an insightful teacher, and is a whole lot of fun to be with. I recommend her enthusiastically!

Beth was my daughter Abby’s English tutor 3 years ago when we just moved to US. English is the 2nd language and Abby passed ESL level 5 within 1.5 years. This is the 2nd time Beth tutoring Abby, but for SAT prep. specifically . Beth is always well prepared and communicates with me the learning target, provides effective feedback to keep me updated on Abby’s progress. Abby is also pleasant to learn from Beth and becomes more confident. It is very important that your kid accept his/her tutor, that makes learning become more interesting and productive. Beth is definitely a great tutor to work with, highly recommended!

Ellie was great. She had my 13 year old son engaged the whole time. When she asked if he wanted to continue after an hour and do an hour and a half he was eager to continue. I'm very glad I found her.

Ben did a fantastic job working with my 5th grade son! My son isn’t exactly a fan of school, especially writing. However he took to Ben right away and seemed to try his best with whatever Ben asked him to do. Ben was able to help with any subject needed. He was easy to schedule with and always showed up on time. He is very personable which helps to motivate students. I would highly recommend Ben as a tutor for any student!

I really can't say enough about the lovely Gina Riva and the way she teaches her programs. She's a delight, very professional, patient yet firm, and makes the 'games' fun. The programs she uses mix it up so that these little wizards of ours don't get bored and are continually challenged. We tried many different tutors, but this was the one that made the difference. I watched my son, who is quite dyslexic, go from struggling and dejected to a confident young man who enjoys reading now. It will always be a challenge for him, but he knows now that he has the tools to stay in the game. Do yourself a favor and get started.

My daughter really struggled with math and Rose' tutoring has really improved my daughter's math acumen. She is really confident in math now and went from making c's and d's to now ming A's on math assignments.

Stacie is a incredible tutor who I hope to work with all throughout my schooling, she helped me build the confidence I needed to work through problems without second guessing myself, made it easy to communicate with her when I had any questions, and taught me in a way that was beneficial for me and maximized what I got out of the experience. I would recommend her to anyone. Not only did I gain the tools I neeeded to succeed, I also gained a person that I can rely on in the future should I need help in college and that is a rare and wonderful thing that you won’t find with most tutors. She still checks in with me to see how things are going which not only shows she is dedicated to her work, but also to her student. I am very thankful for the chance to work with her.

We were told my son was profoundly dyslexic and the news destroyed me. After looking for someone who offered LIPS tutoring on the Eastside of town, I stumbled upon Tammy at Blueberry House Tutoring. She was able to calm me down and put my mind at ease after just one visit. She didn't see the signs of dyslexia in my son and felt she could help us. We have been seeing her and her staff for just over two years now. It was the best decision I could make for my son. It's hard to say were my son would be academically without Tammy and her staff, but can honestly say he has come a long way over the past two years. We have had a couple different tutors and everyone seems to work well with my son. I would highly recommend Blueberry House Tutoring to anyone!

Exceptionally smart, punctual, and thorough, Diego helped tutor me through an extremely challenging college chemistry series that I was otherwise unprepared for. Part of what I appreciated most about him, was his ability to explain complicated material in a simple and accessible vernacular without oversimplifying the information. His interpersonal skills were also much appreciated. Diego kept things light which allowed me to forget about the pressure of learning, while developing not only an understanding of the concepts, but a genuine appreciation and fascination for the material. However, while he clearly possessed an advanced knowledge of the subject as well as a great sense of humor, there was never even the slightest jab or snicker at what I'm sure were so often incredibly elementary and downright comical questions. He remained patient and understanding at all times. Without doubt, one of my most helpful and effective tutors thus far! Thanks for everything, Diegs!

READING & WRITING &VOCABULARY HELP Is your child still struggling to read and write even though he or she has worked with a reading specialist? Have you been told that your child might be dyslexic. I was trained at the Blosser Center in Portland, Oregon to teach reading to children who are dyslexic, are suspected of being dyslexic, or are just having a hard time learning to read. I have a screening I use, so I can tell you if I can help your child. The Orton-Gillingham method of teaching reading, writing, and spelling to children and adults who struggle to read has been around many years, and it works beautifully. In addition to my training at the Blosser Center, I have a BA in Journalism from the University of Oregon. I have been tutoring children from 1st grade to 12th grade in reading and writing for nine years. I have also worked with adults who want to improve their reading and writing. In addition to reading and writing, I also work with children on grammar and handwriting as time allows. I home schooled my own dyslexic son through middle school until he was reading and writing above grade level. He is now an upper classman pursuing a STEM major at Washington State University. Furthermore, I have worked in two different public schools as an Orton-Gillingham reading specialist. Currently, I have an up-to-date background check through Evergreen School District for reading and writing tutoring services contracted through the school. How it works - I meet with your child two to three times a week for 50 minutes per session. I tutor most of my children at the Salmon Creek Library in Salmon Creek in Vancouver, Washington. In some cases, I can come to your home if you live close to the library. I have excellent references from parents and teachers. I would love to talk to you about your child and your options. Helping children learn to read is my passion and life work.
