Soren is an excellent PT! He's very knowledgeable and entertaining. He pushes us to our limits and yet making sure we don't hurt ourselves. He encourages and guides you to a healthy eating routine along with an easy fitness plan tailored for beginners like me. He's detailed and very personable. I highly recommend Soren to anyone looking for self-improvement!
Travis is a joy to train with. His energy and vitality are contagious, even when he's pushing you past your limits. He helped me lose more than 40 pounds after the birth of my second child, and I am very grateful for such an enjoyable and knowledgeable trainer to help me on that journey. I learned a lot, I laughed a lot, and if we still lived in Clackamas you can bet I'd still be training with Travis.
I've been working with Lucas for the past few months now--this is my first time using a personal trainer and I'm hooked. Lucas listens to my concerns not only with my body but with my appetite and catered a workout and meal plan according to my lifestyle. He started me off at a lighter pace but perfect for what my body needed to get accustomed to heavy lifting. He checks in with me every other day for an update to keep me on track. If I don't make it to the gym or have a cheat weekend, instead of making me feel worse about the situation, Lucas just motivates me to work harder. He guides me on what workouts I can benefit from most to make gains even if I have an off week. I can see changes and I feel changes and that to me, is what makes the pain and sweat worth it. But I wouldn't be able to keep the mentality and focus if it weren't for a coach like Lucas. He pushes me, challenges me to keep going and at this rate, I'm so excited to see where his training takes me.
I am a certified water safety instructor, which provides me the knowledge of water safety, all American Red Cross strokes, and methods on how to teach swimming.
I hurt my AC joint doing martial arts and I was sure I'd be out for two months or more from the injury. I had seen Christine for other things before and had great experiences so I set up an appointment. I was able to see her within days of the injury and her knowledge of sports-specific injuries was apparent from the start. I had two sessions with her about one week apart, doing the self-care she prescribed in between, and I felt about 80% by the second treatment. I actually felt good enough that I was able to resume training (with a few modifications) and I was absolutely floored that I only missed a week of training for this injury. I've had similar ones in the past and been out anywhere from four to eight weeks. Aside from the fact that it worked so well, Christine just has an overall attentive, confident and caring manner that keeps me coming back.
I consider myself lucky to have found Shauna. Her abilities as a massage therapist are matched only by her empathy as a caring human being. I can truly say that i've never met someone who is as concerned about how my body is doing as Shauna. When you add to that the fact that she has an uncanny ability to find a way to the root of my body's problems and take care of them, you realize that you have found something special. If you have never had the opportunity to have a massage by Shauna, I highly recommend you give it a try. You will not be disappointed. Her work is top notch, and she really cares. I cannot recommend her highly enough!
I have been competitively swimming year-round in a club swim team for 5 years now and would like to offer the knowledge I have gained to the surrounding community.
This gym is great. The trainers are super knowledgeable and all of the other gym members are awesome. Everyone is supportive and it has a more of a community feel than most other gyms like la or 24hour fitness. Furthermore, I've accomplished things that I would have never even thought to attempt before. Definitely worth checking out.
With 5 years of teaching experience, ranging from babies all the way to adults, you can trust that you will receive the best lesson and technique around.
Shantika is very kind & professional - I was very skeptical of this whole Reiki thing, though I've been investing quite a bit of time into learning about energy healing through books, the internet, other people, etc. I was really hoping for something, but not expecting and, likely, not believing anything could actually happen. I've been living with SEVERE pain for years that has been life-altering in innumerable ways & realized this morning, when starting to cry, I had suddenly stopped, looked down at my wrists, and realized that I was not feeling the agonizing (hell-ish) pain that becomes especially bad when I become emotional. My body has felt incredibly odd ever since, which I'm thinking might be what it feels like to be in less pain than I have become so use to over so many years. It has been only one day, so I don't know what to think or make of it all quite yet, but so far this one day has felt pretty unreal...Not pain-free, but something is definitely changed & I will absolutely be going back.
I enjoy my facials and energy work sessions with Yufang. I feel more rebalanced and harmonious in my body.
If you want your butt in gear, Katherine is your girl! Strength and conditioning training takes time and dedication, but if you listen to Katherine you WILL see results. She will not only kick your butt during your workouts with her but will also give you detailed "homework" for your days outside of the gym and is extremely knowledgeable in dietary recommendations and meal plans. Her workouts are very well thought out and planned in a way that yields great results. It amazed me how much stronger I got each week. I had never lifted weights in my life and am now a firm believer in weight training! Working out with Katherine (and doing her assigned homework) produced results I could have never produced on my own. The icing on the cake is she is so much fun. You will laugh AND sweat. Katherine has perfected the art of being direct and honest but not offensive or scary. Katherine was able to make me get down to business but also look forward to coming to the gym for my sessions something I had never experienced in my life. If you really want to see results and make your workouts count, invest in hiring Katherine. Its worth every penny!
I teach all levels of American Red Cross Lifeguarding and CPR for the Professional Rescuer. I have managed Aquatic facilities in Central texas for 10 years and am extremely experienced in aquatic environments. I have worked professionally as an American Red Cross (ARC) Water Safety Instructor and Special Olympics of Texas Aquatics Coach for over 8 years. I teach all aspects of swimming including diving, fitness training, and competitive coaching. I have worked with all ages but prefer adults and seniors. I have 4 years of experience coaching Special Olympics of Texas Aquatics and am apt to modify strokes to the individual I am working with. Like learning all new skills, consistent practice will be the key to your success. It will be important that we collaborate on a training schedule that helps you achieve your goals. Individuals MUST be prepared to practice independently if they desire rapid progress and comfort in aquatic environments. It is always a good practice to swim either with a friend or at a guarded facility. Cross training and learning all of the competitive strokes isn't always necessary. Don't waste your own time if that is not the kind of swimming that you want to learn. Even a few, short lessons can help lifetime swimmers refine their style to be more efficient and boost endurance.
Freedom's yoga classes at Studio Modern Yoga are quite refreshing and always a nice dose of fun. The approach is delightfully unique and catered to the needs of those in attendance. If you have a physical injury, she'll make sure to check in with you before sending you into a potentially painful pose. She's always been early and patiently waiting for attendees. Even having only occasionally done yoga for the past few years, she's got me doing inversions like I'm a regular practitioner. Freedom radiates a caring and loving energy, and is a pure delight to be around. Best vinyasa yoga teacher I've ever had!
I had the good fortune of taking bootcamp classes from Jenny in Seattle. After 8 weeks of walking with a cane and recovering from a back injury I was intimidated to begin exercising again. Jenny made the transition fun and challenging while offering me safe alternatives to exercises i could not yet do. I left every class feeling accomplished and like I had definitely gotten a solid workout. I lost inches and pounds within the first three weeks. Her classes fly by, are varied enough to keep you on your toes and from getting burnt out or bored. I've gained so much strength and stamina. I will miss Jenny's classes and just have to say her future clients will be SO LUCKY to have her!
