- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes. We are active members of the ADJA (American Disc Jockey Association). We attend DJ conferences and public speaking seminars. The owner, DJ Paradox is also a DJ instructor at Portland's only DJ school, www.platinum-mixlab.com.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Paradox Productions was founded in 2006 to address the growing demand for Non-cheesy MCs & REAL turntable-mix DJs at weddings and professional events. In other words, mondern style DJs with the perect bled of class and skill. Our goal is to provide exceptional talent at a variety of attainable price points. Paradox DJs have been hand selected as some of the most respected, hard-working and accomplished DJs available for professional level events in the Pacific Northwest. As a turntable DJ my foundation was built on the dance floors of Portlands hottest nightclubs from 2003-2009; the big up-side to this is that I learned how to throw an INCREDIBLE dance party based on reading the crowd. This background is concerning for some as we often hear that our couples dont want their wedding to feel like a nightclub. On the other hand, Couples seem to be terrified of hiring the corny wedding DJ we all witnessed throughout the 80s & 90s. Paradox DJs continue to shatter the stigma that we will make a wedding feel like a club. However we pride ourselves in creating a hybrid service of amazing turntable DJ talent, combined with the most professional yet refreshing event hosting (emcee). This is the essence of our company name: PARADOX - A seemingly contradictory statement, that may none-the-less be true.
