Outdoor Landscaping and Design
Sydney has been an incredible help with getting our new garden plants established and ensuring the weeds are kept at bay.

Sydney has been keeping my landscape in Portland looking great. My garden/yard is populated with flowers, tree and bushes with no grass. She has been doing all of the weeding and trimming this year and I like the work that she does. She has also helped with power washing my patios and driveway. Very happy to have her working on my place.

Sydney was a pleasure to work with! She had a vision for our front garden area and she executed it beautifully. It had been several years since we had done any formal landscape design, so it needed a “facelift”. We talked through some ideas and she listened to our feedback. She worked with us to determine which of our existing plants could be salvaged, she moved some plants around to better fit the design, and she trimmed up the overgrown areas that needed it. Then she added several new plants to help balance things out and bring it all together. We are not plant/garden people, so we trusted her with the plant selection, but she was open to us being more involved if we wanted to be. Sydney is obviously passionate about her work, which is refreshing. And she has a lovely personality. We look forward to working with her again!

I first hired Sydney of Nature's Nurturer to do some spring spruce-up of our yard. (My neighbor highly recommended her.) She did an excellent job. We began discussing the possibilities for a long and under-planted parking strip along the side of the house. Syndey immediately began describing possibilities that struck me as creative but practical, including adding soil to give the strip elevation and contours in spots. She brought over a number of plants, including some I had never encountered on my frequent trips to nurseries. Most I immediately liked. Some I passed on. And she was open to moving plants from overcrowded parts of the yard. Her final design added a narrow undulating pea-gravel path that gives the idea of a stream rather than a walkway. Now the parking strip is stunning! People stop and take photos. Throughout, Sydney demonstrated her creativity, willingness to collaborate, work ethic, and concern for cost. Now we're discussing another project.

Thanks to Sydney, our yard and its plants are looking great! She's very familiar with the different plants and their needs, she's responsive to my texts about service, and she's available to answer my questions and make suggestions for future care. Her work ethic is high and in one month, she's helped our yard look fabulous! Highly recommend Nature's Nurturer!

FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? My rate is $39 an hour. For lawn mowing and trimming services only, I charge $69 for the first hour.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?Typically when talking to a client of the phone for the first time, we discuss what they would like see change on their property. Some clients needs don't surpass seasonal clean-up, while other clients desire new planting aka install. When this is the case, we meet at the property for further discussion (COVID regulations in mind).
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have been working the land for 10+ years, mostly in the scope of ornamental gardening and farming. While in college I studied Natural Resources with minors in Sustainability and Education. Through this, I have taken many courses in horticulture, sustainable land management, and organic farming.
