- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Besides being in-network with Regence (BCBS, Cigna, Moda and Magellan Health Services), I accept cash pay and 3rd party pay (out of network insurance) in my private practice. This allows me to keep my fees fairly reasonable and my treatment options with you more flexible in terms of duration, frequency, treatment modalities and medical necessity. Furthermore, If you pay cash for a session, no one has to know but you and your therapist. There is no public record of any diagnosis. There is no public record of your time spent there. Your therapist's notes are protected legal documents. Insurance coverage has advantage and disadvantages. My license may be covered by some insurance companies. You must talk to your insurer to determine whether or not my services are covered. At your request, I will provide a statement with all necessary billing and payment information that you can submit to your insurance.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I have learned from my professional experience to date that psychotherapy is a very broad field and it is impossible for any practitioner to master more than a few complimentary modalities of treatment. Based on a combination of my personal interests, my intellectual strength, scieintific research to date, trainings I have had and the needs of my clients, I offer the following treatment modalities and principles in my practice: Treatment Modalities and Principles : Sensori-motor approach teaches clients to follow the inherently intelligent processes of body and mind to promote healing. It is particularly helpful in working with the effects of trauma, abuse and emotional pain. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a complex therapeutic process utilizing eye movements, sound or pulsations to stimulate both hemispheres of the brain. Some clients have described the process as weaving together fragments of thought and memory into a cohesive whole. EMDR can be use to reduce distress as well as increase a sense of self-worth, self-confidence and inner peace. CIMBS (Complex Integration of Multiple Brain Systems). This therapeutic approach is a collaborative journey of exploration to discover how things work inside your brain. This means that you will be able to be mindfully aware of your own internal experiences [emotions, desires] so that you can intervene internally and respond to each life situation in a new, unique and contingent way instead of with the same old behaviors and reactions that bring pain in your life. In learning how to be attuned to yourself and others around you, you will achieve a deep kind of emotional intelligence. The quality of your relationships will improve. You will continue growing and changing even after you have completed therapy. Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is an emotional, needle free version of acupuncture that is based on new discoveries regarding the connection between your bodys subtle energies, your emotions, and your health. EFT has been reported as successful in thousands of cases covering a huge range of emotional, health and performance issues. Alpha-Stim treats depression, anxiety, insomnia and physical pain with tiny electrical currents similar to those found naturally in the body, using a method called cranial and micro electrical current stimulation. Earthing reconnects the human body with the energy naturally present in the ground we walk on. This will help the balance between the sympathetic and para-sympathetic nervous system. It can reduce hyper-tension, improve sleep and reduce inflammation and chronic pain. BrainWave Entrainment is an assisted form of meditation using sound or light pulses to bring about deep positive transformation. - What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes, I attend at least 20 hours a year of workshops and trainings in my field of practice. This is also a requirement for my licensure. I attend monthly peer consultations on body-oriented psychotherapy and read the latest research on trauma treatment.
