FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge at the beginning of the month for however many lessons the student would like throughout the month. $25 for a half hour lesson. $45 for an hour lesson. Most students typically choose to have one half-hour lesson every week and pay $100 at the beginning of the month.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For the first few lessons with a prospective student, I like to find out what type of music they are most passionate about. Then, with the help of the student, I construct a list of songs or pieces within that genre, from easiest to most difficult, to serve as a musical step-ladder throughout our lessons. The list will include many of the student's favorite songs ranked appropriately for difficulty. I find that these lists are incredible motivators to keep the student practicing and are also fun ways to mark progress!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Master's Degree of Music Performance from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. While there, I studied for two years with Tom Martin, former principle bassist of the London Symphony Orchestra.
