Introduction: We all stand out in our own unique way. Components of and/or the combination of my professional expertise and experience can be beneficial to most projects.
As a cameraman and field producer I have worked with a variety of mid- to high-end cameras (SD & HD formats - shooting styles ranging from news to documentary, reality and cinematic concepts). With considerable exposure to difficult environments (including altitude and other remote/rough terrain, air- and watercraft of all sizes), I've provided production and camera services to international projects (with frequent assignments in the US, Europe and the Middle East).
Since 1985 global projects I've been involved with, include river explorations in northern India, an expedition into the Amazon Basin, the search for WWII shipwrecks, in the South China Sea and much more.
Fluent in the German language I have served on (and produced) German media projects in the US and Canada. I have also worked in liaison capacities on American productions in Germany and Europe. With numerous international assignments under my belt I'm accustomed to working with multi-lingual professionals effectively. My clients continue to benefit from these project-tested connections whenever global team work and/or additional language skills are needed on a project.
Film and TV projects I've worked on, have aired on regional, national and international broadcast networks, including ABC and PBS in the United States, WDR German TV and RTVi, a Russian network.
Once upon a time, during a project we did in Kashmir, India, a friend and mentor of mine (the late Oregonian explorer Ken Warren) said it best: "Meeting the people is what it's really all about...always remember that."
My work gives me the unique opportunity to see life from the perspectives of different people almost every day. Whether it is the small business owner who commissions me to shoot a marketing video for her website, or the scientist whose interview I capture for a television appearance. I'm privileged to contribute to the contributions of others. There is no better way to keep growing.
