We used Rick Bean's dj and photo booth services for our wedding this past June 13, 2015. Our wedding was a mixed wedding, Spanish and American, so the DJ played both kinds of music. He was very nice and wanted to make everyone happy including myself and the groom. The photo booth assistants were also great. Very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend B&B light and sound. Thanks guys for making our night awesome!!

I used It's A Sing Thing! for my daughters wedding on 12/28/14 and they were nothing less than professional. They had music playing at all times. I have heard of nightmares with DJ's and weddings; not the case here for sure. They new what would get the people on the floor. A fun time was had by all! Thank you Mr. and Mrs. John Sawyers.

I hired FM Sound for my wedding in Feb. 20th, 2016. From the beginning, Mike said I could call or text him any time of the day (even in the middle f the night) and he would respond and he did! He had GREAT suggestions and worked with my ideas as well! The lighting was bright and clubby and made for a party! The pricing was affordable and fair! But ultimately, my FAVORITE part about the service was Mike's enthusiasm and upbeat character!! He was the best host I've ever seen at a wedding and it was mine!! My guests even came up to me to just compliment me on my awesome Dj! If there were any small unexpected changes, he absolutely rolled with the punches gracefully! I recommend FM Sound Productions for your wedding or any other entertainment needs because it will make for a FUN and MEMORABLE night! Thank you so much for all your services and continue the great work!

I was a little nervous to trust someone I didn’t know to capture my 50th Birthday Party, but after speaking with Jabraan I could tell he was experienced at this. Jabraan showed up early, took great shots of the event and captured everything for a great price. I’m reviewing the pictures now and it’s like I’m reliving the night but better because now I see all the things I missed. Great Job

Megan Zeller was the photographer from our wedding. Our wedding was only about 110 people, but it was almost all family. She helped us not only get the pictures of just us that we wanted but was also able to manage the crazy family photos that seemed to take forever! I can't wait for a reason to use her again!

Our photo booth was really one of the highlights of our wedding - our guests had so much fun with it, and the photos turned out beautifully. We had a pretty tight budget for our wedding but we decided to splurge a little bit to get a photo booth, Shining Star's rates were very competitive, and we were so glad we decided to go for it! Money very well spent. The photo booth attendants were so sweet and accommodating and really added to the overall experience. Mark made it so easy to squeeze in big groups, and he always had a smile on your face! Would recommend heartily.

Jonathan Tice is a very talented musician and music teacher. He student taught in my General and Vocal Music classroom this winter, 2014, and proved himself to be a very caring and dedicated teacher. His musicianship is exceptional, and he is able to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of his students. He is patient as well as intelligent. He sets very high standard for all of his students and helps them to achieve those standards.

We hired Mike aka Wacky Wizard for our daughter's 1st year Birthday party. Needless to say, it was the best decision we made. Mike was excellent with his tricks and had the entire gathering kids and adults glued to the show. We could only hear laughter and laughter from the kids ( and adults). The trick he displayed were really good. He will not disappoint you and I would definitely recommend him.

Becky Trayers is so supremely talented, it's insane. She has a pure, natural talent and my husband and I felt so lucky that she could serenade our wedding ceremony. We requested that she play the Jurassic Park theme song (I would highly recommend that any bride send her ladies down the aisle to that melody - it's rad and BEAUTIFUL) and Becky NAILED IT!! She also guided me through different ideas - she is an encyclopedia of song ideas. I highly recommend Becky as your next violinist!!!

We found 30 West Entertainment on our recommended vendor list provided by our venue. They were the fastest and friendliest to respond (and quite reasonably priced too), so we scheduled a meeting right away. Our wedding DJ was Tim Mercandetti, one of the owners of 30 West Entertainment. I cannot say enough good things about Tim! He was the person we met with during each of the planning meetings (we had 2), so it was great to get to know him personally before the big day. So, let me admit that I was the most disorganized mess about our music and waited until the last minute (like, 4 days before our wedding!) to provide him with choices for our first dance, father/daughter & mother/son dances, etc. I have no idea how, but Tim turned my mess into a wedding music masterpiece! His choices were creative and truly SPOT ON, given only about 30 of our favorite songs/bands as suggestions. I can't even count the number of people who came up to me and told me it was the best music they'd ever heard at a wedding. And then there was the fact that DJ Tim turned our AFTERNOON wedding into an awesome dance party. It was amazing. He had everyone, including my grandmothers, out on the floor dancing thanks to his fun (yet appropriate) personality and his amazing song choices. Epic! Bottom line, HIRE this guy. He was such a hit with our guests and made us feel at ease even despite giving him very little to work with. We couldn't have asked for better!

Hi! My name is DJ Rocc B. I have been deejaying for five years now and enjoy what I do. What do I have to offer? A great experience with lots of edit music and high energy or low energy based on your needs and wants. I will customize my skills and services to tailor to your needs to make your event just as you picture it.

We are full-service entertainment provider. Our primary services are DJ entertainment (for weddings, college and school functions, birthdays, anniversaries, and more) and interactive game shows for college and corporate clients. We also assist people in finding other types of entertainers, such as caricaturists, hypnotists, psychics, etc., as well as make-and-take novelties, carnival and casino games, inflatable and mechanical rides. Our commitment to fulfilling the client's needs and our own professionalism have put us in the hierarchy that others in our local industry strive to match (that sounds a little pompous, but I didn't want to be cliché and boring, and say something like "We are an industry leader in our market."). Either way, we truly are really, really good, and offer great value for the services we provide.

We supply a professional DJ experience. We do any type of music for any size of event. We also offer fog, lights, and karaoke.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

    What is a mariachi band?

Mariachi bands are rooted in Mexican culture. Traditional mariachi bands consisted of two or more members playing stringed instruments, wearing regional costumes adapted from the charro (Mexican horseman or cowboy). Modern mariachi bands, which are likely what you’re looking for when searching for a mariachi band for hire, feature at least four members who play stringed instruments (violin, vihuela, bass guitar called guitarron) and one or more trumpets. The costumes have remained the same, but now trumpets are synonymous with mariachi music. Mariachi bands for hire often play a wide range of music, including styles originating from Mexico and adopted from elsewhere. These include jarabes, waltzes, serenades, corridos (Mexican ballads), ranchera, cumbia, and more. Mariachi bands for hire bring a festive and soulful element to a party, birthday, wedding, corporate affair, fundraiser or community event. UNESCO has inscribed mariachi music on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

What is a photo booth rental?

A party photo booth is a fun, interactive experience where guests can take a series of photos (usually three or four) that are immediately printed out on a strip as a keepsake. When you rent a party photo booth, the company sets up the booth or photo station at your event; a photographer staffs the booth and coaches guests on how to use it throughout the event. Often the photo booth rental company provides props like silly hats, wigs and glasses. There are different types of party photo booth rentals. An open-air booth has a curtain or backdrop that allows more freedom of movement and enables more people to use it at one time. The traditional enclosed photo booths that you may have seen at the mall or the fair tend to cost more to rent, as they are harder to transport and also cost more for the pros to purchase. The national average cost for party photo booth rentals is $400-$500.

How many mariachis can a band have?

A mariachi band for hire can have as many players as you like. Modern mariachi bands typically have a minimum of four players with the trumpet playing a vital musical role along with stringed instruments such as the violin, guitarrón (a Mexican bass guitar with a deep body), vihuela (a Spanish stringed guitar) and guitar. Strong vocals are also an important component of mariachi bands for hire, since one or more of the players will be singing during the performance. For a truly spectacular show, you can hire a mariachi band with 15 or more players. The medley of stringed instruments, multiple trumpets, soaring vocals, and even an accordion or harp is powerful and beautiful. Mariachis typically wear the traditional costume of charros — Mexican horsemen. The look is a very regal, monotone suit, often in black or white, with silver adornments and embroidery. Mariachi bands often wear sombreros as well. Traditional mariachi bands were only made up of two or more players, according to a UNESCO report celebrating the cultural heritage of the musical style. The style of music originated in the state of Jalisco. Now the style of music is symbolic of Mexico but is celebrated all over the world, and adds a fabulous vibrancy to any group’s events, parties and weddings.

How much does a mariachi band cost?

A mariachi band will bring your party or event alive with their fabulous costumes, beautiful playing and strong vocals. The cost of a mariachi band for hire will depend on how many players are in the group. Each musician in a performance group needs to be paid, so pricing is usually based on the number of mariachis (musicians), the location of the event (and travel time required), and the length of the performance. Day of the week also affects cost, as does day — Christmas, New Year’s Eve and other major holidays will cost more than regular days. The national average cost for live bands of all types ranges between $740 and $1,200. Depending on where you live and regional rates for performers, you might expect to pay between $65 and $120 per hour, per player. Mariachi groups may have 12-15 players available for performance at one time, depending on your budget. Here are some examples of how the number of players affects average cost:

    • Four mariachis: $300 per hour for weeknights, $400 per hour for weekends.
    • Five mariachis: $350 per hour for weeknights, $400-$450 per hour for weekends. Weekends may have a minimum number of hours.
    • Six mariachis: $400 per hour for weeknights, $450-$500 per hour for weekends.

How much is it to rent a photo booth for a party?

Renting a party photo booth for your next event will get your guests engaged and provide a take-home favor for attendees. The cost to rent a party photo booth will vary depending on the type of booth, the day and time of year, the length of the rental, and any add-ons you select. The national average cost for party photo booth rentals is $400-$500. Here are some examples of average party photo booth rental costs:

    • Weekday packages: $300-$550, depending on features included and length of rental. A three-hour weekday package for $500 could include guest book, personalized photo strips and DVD of all the photos.
    • Weekend packages: $450-$700, depending on features included and length of rental.
    • Additional hours: $100-$150 per extra hour.
