Adventure bootcamp was my first group training experience and, I have to admit, the idea of being involved in something with the word "bootcamp" in it was intimidating. I expected a drill sergeant type of instructor barking at me to get my legs up higher or drop and do 20 push-ups. Instead I met Phil who's style of motivation was surprisingly nonthreatening. He let me work at my pace but didn't let me slack. This left me with a feeling a empowerment instead of defeat. I contribute a lot of my enthusiasm to not only his encouragement but also his ability to always come up with innovative ways to challenge his clients. You never knew what you would be doing that day but you always knew at the end you would feel like you've gotten an incredible workout and a sense of accomplishment because you were stretched go do things you never imagined you could. I can say with certainty that nothing is beyond my reach or ability because I've told myself I can't many times in the past and after taking his course I've seen those cant's change to cans and wills. If you're on the fence about whether you should sign up for one of Phils classes take my advice and just give it a try. You won't be disappointed.
Doug is a wonderful trainer. He is patient and understanding and spot on for providing the right exercises and routines for our needs. He is even great at working with both my husband and me during the same session while tailoring our workouts for us individually. He has a gentle manner in getting us through our workouts but provides challenges too. Doug is also flexible with training schedules as our schedule changes weekly and he always tries to make time for us. When we are away for vacation or out of town, he will make a routine for us that we can do while away. I would recommend him wholeheartedly for anyone with any type of training needs. He is just great!
Mike is an excellent trainer. From the beginning he made me feel at ease and comfortable. He listened to my concerns and developed a training plan that was manageable but still provided the challenge that I needed. He is always the professional and is passionate about his work. I meant Brandon in February 2014 at LA fitness. I had signed up for a one year contract of personal training sessions. He was a very nice and easy going young man. I was immediately comfortable working him as my personal trainer. I weighed in 290 lbs. I lost 65lbs and 10 inches off my waist and hip area by February 2015! I now weigh 225lbs. I went from a size 20 to 12. He taught well, explained thoroughly, and demonstrated the importance of healthy eating, portion sizes, weight training, flexibility, endurance, consistentcy,muscle confusion and strength training. He explained how to use all the equipment, intensity and tempo of my workout sessions. I learned about what it takes to be fit and stay fit. He taught me the importance of rest times and how and when to increase weights. He taught me the importance or immediate energy, protein and stored body fat. This was a life changing experience! He was always on time and the quality of work was outstanding!!. Brandon answered all of my questions and always offered tips on things to do outside of the gym (races, track, hiking, sports etc). Aesha comes to my house to train me about twice a week. It is very hard for me to go to a gym to workout due to my personal situation at home but having Aesha has allowed me to work on myself 2 hours a week.
