About
-Emrys Studio lessons are structured to ensure students have fun during lessons while also providing a personalized plan to achieve each student’s specific music goals. Lessons feature:
-A fun, friendly, encouraging and patient teaching style
-personalized notes, music documents (tabs, chords, chord charts) and a video of how to play whatever we worked on that day emailed to you at the end of the lesson
-Emrys’s full attention and expertise during every lesson, each lesson can include a combination of guitar, voice, songwriting, and/or music production instruction
-Our greatest joy is to help students improve every week, and see both kids and adults with no musical backgrounds become talented musicians and experience the joy of music.
-Additionally, it is especially rewarding to see students become more self confidence when they become more skilled than they once believed they were capable of.

Taylor is a great vocal/guitar instructor. By the end of my first lesson with him, I knew how to play and sing a whole song! He is very detail-oriented, pointing out small things I could improve on to be a better musician. Additionally, he is patient, and doesn’t judge you for your mistakes. I felt very comfortable singing in front of him despite my fear of public singing. Would certainly recommend him to anyone I know who would like to pick up the guitar/singing.
Details: 18 - 25 years old • Yes, the student can read music • No formal training • Pop • R&B • 45 minutes • On an ongoing basis • As soon as possible • Ready to hire the right teacher now • I travel to the voice coach

Taylor at Emyrs Studio is a great instructor: knowledgeable, positive, friendly, encouraging, patient, and passionate about guitar. He makes learning and playing a lot less daunting than I thought possible. I'm so impressed with how much I have improved with his instruction over the past few months!

I picked up the guitar two years ago and was mostly teaching myself off of YouTube but then I started practicing with Taylor in October of 2017. He has helped my guitar playing and singing reach a new level. Songs that would take me months to figure out on my own took me a week or two with his help. He’s both kind and professional. I was even able to achieve my goal of getting good enough to perform live at a talent show! I can’t say enough good things about him and if you are on the fence you should definitely take lessons!

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Lessons become cheaper if bought in "packages" for example, a package of 7 lessons yields a $20 discount.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first lesson starts with a conversation to discover what each student's music goals are, and a simple outlined development plan is created. For beginners the next step is to begin learning the first song, and students will learn important skills and theory in the process. For intermediate to advanced players, after the discussion they will likely dive into specific skills or theories.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Emrys has a degree in Music Psychology from the University of Connecticut where he graduated magna cum Laude in 2015. He also took five years of private guitar lessons from a brilliant instructor during his youth.
