Introduction: READ CAREFULLY FIRST: ZOOM (Virtual) or IN-STUDIO ONLY (Germantown, Philadelphia, PA 19144). WEEKLY LESSONS ONLY - NO BI-WEEKLY OR 1X/MONTH WEEKDAYS/NIGHTS ONLY - NO WEEKENDS. I will make you the best musician you can be. My students are well-rounded: they can enjoy all music has to offer and they're ready to take on any new opportunity or challenge. Come develop your craft through fun and meaningful experiences and skills training! I am a seasoned teacher, performer, and songwriter with 20 years experience in Blues, Rock, Folk, and Pop. I teach using a structured but flexible method based on creativity, intuition, and ear training. I enjoy getting to know my students and their families on a personal level to make lessons fun and to connect who they are with their self expression through music. I love seeing students feel motivated to practice their instrument because they want to improve. All the motivation and time I put in to see that inner drive kick in is well worth it. I get excited when I see students light up in pride when they play and when they show how eager they are to learn to better express themselves (another song, style, etc).

Guitar Lessons

Hands on teacher that made me a competent player in only a couple months. Very patient with new students and great at explaining new concepts. The option of group lessons is also great for some students.

Guitar Lessons

Adam K. Is an excellent teacher. Adam takes the time to evaluate new students, find out what their goals are and then customizes a lesson plan. Adam's lesson allows the student to learn music theory and new songs. I appreciate Adam's patience and his positive learning environment. Thanks Adam!

Piano Lessons

Adam helped me form a good foundation on which to build off off over the course of our time together. He takes the time to focus on mastering a single concept before moving on to the next topic. Another quality I found helpful was his responsiveness to emails and texts. Whenever an issue came up that prevented him or I (mostly I lol) he would accommodate my request to reschedule. I plan on taking lessons from Adam in the future and would recommend him to anyone interested in exploring music!

Guitar Lessons

Cant speak highly enough about Adam. I felt he went above and beyond for a guitar teacher. He challenged me to perform at an open mic fairly early (I couldnt play a full song before starting lessons) and took his own time to come support me. He teaches piano too and has a great understanding of music theory. This was big for me as music theory is fascinating to me. Our lessons were very relaxed and always left me excited to get home and practice more. My interest in guitar is fairly schizophrenic and I like to change focus all the time to cover as much ground in our precious weekly hour. Adam did a great job working with my idiosyncrasies and taught me a great amount in the few months we had lessons. (I moved out of town)

Thanks Max! It was a pleasure teaching you. I'm excited to see how much more you continue to grow as a guitar player and songwriter. Let me know if you ever move back to the area.

Piano Lessons

Adam regularly exceeds my expectations for a piano teacher. He is highly knowledgeable, kind, and patient. These qualities are evidenced in his ability to successfully curate each lesson with careful consideration of my personal goals and learning style. I deeply value his ability to meet me where I'm at, while consistently pushing me beyond my self-conceived limits. His encouragement and honesty serve as constant motivation to persist through the daunting thick of the beginner's learning curve. I would highly recommend him to anyone interested in developing themselves as a musician.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

    Private and Group lessons

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

The first lesson focuses on collecting information about musical or lesson experiences and explaining my teaching method. I will provide some introductory materials and based on the student's ability and goals, and recommend materials to purchase. We will create specific daily, weekly, and monthly goals for you to achieve, which may be modified later based on progress. What you can expect: After 3 to 6 months of lessons with regular practice you will have learned 3 or 4 songs of your choice and numerous ways of expressing yourself through music. You will have a basic knowledge of chords, how to read musical notation, strumming patterns and basic rhythms. To achieve these results, you must be willing to practice 20-30 minutes a day most days each week.
