  • Dave's Piano Service

    (97 reviews)

We do piano tuning, repairs, and regulation. We perform tuning to concert pitch (A-440). That allows you to play along with recorded music. We also perform repairs, which includes everything from individual key and mechanism repair to multiple repairs and re-stringing. Regulation is also offered. Regulation is what keeps the moving parts of the piano in their optimal settings so the keys feel right when played and play every time they are played. The best thing about tuning is the end result -- a great-sounding piano.

Thumbtack Spotlight

Quality Piano Service - Judith Palmer

(22 reviews)

What do you love about your job?

It is a privilege to be invited into a customer's home, school or place of worship to provide a service I have loved doing for over 40 years. The trust they place in me to make their pianos right again and the appreciation they show keeps me challenged and inspired to do my best. I arrive with my bag of tools, perform a little "magic" and experience the satisfaction of taking the piano from a sorry state to an improved condition that provides enhanced musical expression. It is my small contribution to making the world a better place. One of my favorite parts is hearing the piano being played after I've packed up my tools and am just outside the door. I love that.

What or who inspired you to start your own business?

One motivating factor was needing to make a living. I wanted the independence and the fun of creating something. I enjoy working with my hands, meeting people and fostering music. Once I serendipitously came to the idea of tuning pianos, it felt exactly right. What followed was a lot of study, hard work and mentoring from others, which still continues. Eventually, a thriving business has come to be, for which I am truly grateful.

  2. #2 Piano Tuning and Repairs by Marty Krzywonos

    (49 reviews)

    Yuenchi W.

Great job by Marty! Marty spent two hours working on my Steinway console 1948. The piano was not tuned for more than five years. It was 28 cents off pitch A-440, he tuned it twice, brought up the hearty solid sound of Steinway. Marty is knowledgeble, other than tuning, he explained how the piano action would be working better. Thanks to Marty.

    Tony C.

John arrived diligently 10 minutes prior to the appointment time. John was performing a first time piano tuning for us. Not only was this beautifully done, he also fixed the the lid over the keys. John treated the piano as if it was one of his own. He is an honest and nice man. Rates are very reasonable. This is the only piano tuner I want to use. I highly recommend!

  5. #5 Benjamin Piano

    (6 reviews)

    Steve K.

Blair Benjamin is going to be my go to guy for my piano. He showed up promptly at 1:30, the time we scheduled and was amazing. I am a musician so I wanted to watch the tuning so I could learn. Blair was great, he broke down every step of what he was doing and we even had some musical talk as well. He doesn't nickel and dime you like some piano tuners out there, little things would come up during the tuning and he would just take care of them free of charge. I highly recommend Blair to anyone he is fantastic!

  6. #6 Alex Moore, Registered Piano Technician

    (4 reviews)

    David S.

Alex is a conscientious, passionate craftsman. In addition to meticulously tuning our piano, he addressed a number of sticky keys. He could have easily just fixed the keys that were sticking but he took the time to regulate the entire 88! One key at a time! An ounce of prevention as they say. I will have him back at regular intervals now that the piano is playable again. I would recommend him highly.
