Introduction: One of the most enjoyable qualities of teaching music is being part of the discovery process, whether it is learning how to play the instrument/sing or learning a new technique. I'm happy to share my experience in music from an educator's point of view, as well as a freelance musician. Helping people that were once declared, "musically hopeless," tap into their true musical potential has been one of the greatest gifts. My students receive tailored lessons to help them reach their goals in music. I have a B.A. in Music Education and voice, certified to teach K-12 in PA, and have been teaching music lessons for over 10 years to wide age range including 7 year olds to older adult beginners. I currently teach at my home studio, but I can travel to you as well. I also teach at two schools: Music Nation Academy (Doylestown) and Ambler Music (Ambler). I specialize in these areas: voice, harmonica, piano, and theory. -Voice: I teach voice lessons to beginners to more advanced levels. I am comfortable focusing on classical, musical theater, pop, and folk styles. We will go over breathing techniques and posture as well as improving your tone and range. Whether it’s a musical theater audition or just wanting more control and confidence in your voice, I want to help you get what you want! -Harmonica: I offer unique harmonica lessons of all levels that include extended techniques, reading music, and improvisation outside of the blues/folk realm. I also repair and customize harmonicas, one of the few who do this in the Philadelphia area. You’d can hear some of my playing on some albums coming out (2018) as a session musician. Not too many harmonica teachers have a music education background. I can cover these types of harmonica: diatonic (bluesharp), chromatic, tremolo, bass, and chord. Piano- beginner to intermediate piano lessons. We will go from your current level and move on. Piano is a wonderful introductory instrument because it’s so visual. If you don’t own one, then we can discuss a model of electric keyboard to purchase. Music theory- Knowing more music theory will never hurt your musicianship.
