Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I'm an artist in addition to being a computer geek, so I pride myself on my ability to find creative solutions to my clients' needs. Also, I try to be environmentally responsible and save my clients money with recycled parts and free software. Meeting interesting people and their pets. Figuring out how to solve a difficult problem that I've never seen before. Teaching grandparents how to talk with their out-of-state grandchildren via Skype or Facetime. And most of all, the look of relief on a person's face when they first use their computer after I've cleaned all the viruses from it.

Jason is an accomplished professional in his field and mostly very pleasant to work with. He knows his material and is fair in pricing. Best is, he makes house calls, thus avoiding the need to pack things and risk trave, and is usually pretty dependable about keeping appointments in a timely fashion. He will also take phone calls and offer consulting and suggestions at no charge, which is pretty well fantastic. His primry flaw may be that he is very smart at what he does, and can sometimes lose patience with clueless clients. He may overlook that there are people just as smart as him, or not smart at all, and they just don't know comuters like he does. Aside from that minor flaw (hey, nobody's perfect, not even Jason), he is all the above good qualities which make him an outstanding resource to anyone not schooled in the nuances of the computer world, or you just need some kind of analysis and service. I would recommend him without qualification. I don't mind posting my email for further remarks. gkruth@aol.com

I happened on Jason's services on Angie's List. Taking a chance, I called and set up an appointment. He was easy to work with in getting a time that was beneficial to both of us, and showed up on time and ready to work. He was professional and went far above and beyond to help me with my Mac. He not only did what was discussed in setting up our appointment, he patiently answered questions and then provided assistance to things that came up when I asked my - many - questions, never showing any impatience or making me feel uncomfortable to ask things that must have been basic. Before he left I had him put a program on my Mac that would let him sign on to my Mac from home - I had that much confidence in him. I would absolutely recommend Jason if you need someone to help with your computer. He proved to be the best.

Jason first helped us last year with 2 aging computers for which we were seeking a little more lengthened life. He did a great job, but it turned into a tutoring session as well, as he helped us with many issues in our home office ranging from our printers, to cell phone issues, etc. He even changed our router password to a more user friendly one as opposed to the 21 random numbers that Comcast insisted we could not change! One of my complaints about past computer service is that when you pick your computer up, you don't know any more than when you dropped it off. Not so with Jason. He will go through a list of questions about all of your tech needs, and if he can't answer it he'll find it out online!

Jason is reassuring, calm, knowledgeable and responsive. His bywords, "Don't panic" are easy to listen to because he answers questions and solves problems!

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I have a one-hour minimum charge for house calls and a half-hour minimum for remote support. For house calls more than 30 minutes away from the east end of Pittsburgh, my minimum is two hours. A quick fix that takes less than 10 minutes will usually be free unless a long drive was involved; otherwise, I round to the nearest half-hour. I don't charge for travel time, unless a problem can be fixed remotely and the client opts for a house call anyway. Appointments outside my normal work hours or on the weekend are subject to my emergency rate. The emergency rate also applies if I have to reschedule someone else's appointment in order to accommodate you more quickly. • What types of customers have you worked with?
