Introduction
Aside from providing traditional repairs and renovations in residential and rental properties and commercial spaces, as a practicing artist and art fabricator I am also very much interested in providing unique artisinal solutions and utilizing historic processes to preserve and modernize homes. Working also in movie set construction and set painting industry, I am insistent upon maintaining the highest aesthetic standards even on the smallest of jobs.
While completing necessary repairs at an affordable cost to clients, in a timely manner is my primary vocation and priority, I most enjoy participating in the design and building process. Having worked in the construction and fabrication industry professionally for over 15 years I enjoy being able to recommend highly qualified, honest and affordable tradesman other than myself when the opportunity arises. As an artist and teacher I understand my work as both a creative process and "thanking."

Zak came in to repaint our upstairs and downstairs hallways, which had paint over wallpaper. We didn't like the color or the really obvious seams.
He performed some real "movie magic" and the result is amazing. They patched over the seams, sponged and sanded evenly, and added some spray texture in places to even it all out.
The result is far better than we imagined.
While it took a bit longer than he originally planned (3 days instead of 2), we're extremely pleased with the quality and the price.
Definitely recommended - we'll call on him again.

We hired Zak to address long overlooked cosmetic and functional fixes for our house before putting on the market. He was great to work with, knew what to do, how to do it, and had the tools needed for the job. Friendly and reasonably priced too. We've hired him again to finish drywall at our new house.

I have hired many contractors in the past to work on my house and my rental properties. Not only a masterful carpenter and craftsman, Zak knows how to do most everything (if he doesn't he will tell you and give you a recommendation). He just finished a complete interior and exterior remodel of a remodel of one of our rental properties a few months ago, remodeling the bathroom and kitchen and really everything. He had great suggestions as far as design as well as saving us money. We will be hiring Zak in the future. Thanks so much.
