Introduction: Our founder, Christine T. DeMao, is a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) who has been planning social and corporate events for more than 22 years. In Your Element Events was borne out of Christine's creative nature, entrepreneurial spirit, and passion for our environment. Christine spent nearly 20 years in the field of investment management before realizing her dream of starting her own event planning firm. During that time, she had the opportunity to produce large and small-scale events and also acquired valuable business management, financial budgeting, customer service, marketing, writing, and contract negotiation skills that continue to benefit her and her clients today. In early 2011, Christine earned the Convention Industry Council’s Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation, demonstrating expertise in planning and executing professional events. Christine has studied organizational development and behavior at Duquesne University and at the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland. She is also a graduate of San Francisco State University's Meeting and Event Planning Program. Christine is an active member of the International Special Events Society, the Green Meeting Industry Council, Meeting Professionals International, and the Professional Convention Management Association. Christine's work at In Your Element Events is a labor of love. She enjoys the creative exercise of helping people and organizations celebrate their most meaningful moments while keeping a keen eye on the bottom line and our planet's resources. Christine believes that every event, meeting, and social celebration has the potential to be more than people simply gathering together at the same place and time. These events provide us with a powerful opportunity to connect meaningfully with each other and leave behind a legacy of benevolence. In her spare time, Christine enjoys spending time with her adopted dogs, reading, traveling, and teaching cake decorating classes. She also volunteers for Icing Smiles, a nonprofit organization that coordinates the donation of celebration cakes to critically ill children and their siblings.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

It may be uncommon, but we believe that providing simple published rates helps us to achieve our goal of pricing transparency. Our services can be retained: • On an hourly basis at $50 per hour for smaller events or a la carte planning projects •For a percentage fee of 10% of the total event budget for start to finish, full service, event planning •Or for a flat dollar amount based on your customized scope of services proposal We believe that our prices should be fair, that clients should pay only for those services that they use, and that clients should always feel that they have received a good value for their money. One of the biggest advantages to hiring a professional meeting and event planner is our ability to negotiate the best possible pricing deals for our clients. We don't believe in hidden fees or markups, and any discounts or rebates resulting from our professional memberships are passed on directly to our clients. Our flexible pricing structure is designed to eliminate any conflicts of interest between the planner and client and help our clients achieve their budget. For charitable organizations, we offer a reduced fee schedule.
