Very happy we found falcon to exterminate several bee hives under my vinyl siding and around exhaust vents on my two story home. They were extremely responsive to my request for estimate, provided explanation for how the bees would be treated, showed up on time, explained everything in detail before starting work, and charged exactly what was quoted. And provide a guarantee if bees come back. He “treated” them well, so I highly doubt they will. We are very happy. Thank you Falcon!!

I received a very fast response from Amenta and Steve answered all of my questions. My wife and I met the technician the morning of our scheduled extermination. We were both very impressed and satisfied with Amentas professionalism and knowledge. We spoke to the technician and found that Nick was not only an technician, he is an expert in pest removal co-owner of Amenta Pest Management. He explained in detail the chemicals used, the processes, and what results should be expected. He scheduled ab follow up with us that morning and I saw first hand briefly how thorough he is in his work. We highly recommend Amenta Pest Management for fair pricing a well as their professionalism. They stand by their work. Priceless in today's world. Thank you Nick.

Mike did an excellent job with my property to get things back under control. Was here within 2 days to do grass cutting and General yard clean-up. Even found two underground yellow jacket nests that he took care of. I liked Mike's work so much that I will continue to. Use him and he has agreed to do my snow removal starting this season. I highly recommend that you have Mike do your yard work !

I had bees removed from my roof, however we noticed 2 days later they relocated to a tree in the back yard. We waited until dark and cut them down into a heavy plastic bag. I've had no trouble so far.

I had a yellow jacket issue with bees getting inside the house walls so didn't want to tackle on my own. They came out in 2 days and the bees were gone 2 days later as they said. Professional and responsive.

I would highly recommend for expediency and competency. Steve explained the nature of an ant infestation, and how to urge them to move along and take treats back to the family. I will be using this service again.

I have never worked with ANY company with this level of customer service! They are just doing their job, but they do it with such EXCELLENCE, and grace, that to them; it's "no big deal!" Well... I'd like to say; that it IS a big deal. This company has succeeded my expectations above and beyond what I could have even imagined. I would recommend them to anybody looking for a bed- bug removal service. We do travel AAU sports and stay in hotels often, so whenever we hear conversation of bed bugs we refer them to East Coast Heat Guys. If we ever bring bed bugs back home again from our travels, we will be coming back to them ! I can't thank them enough for how comfortable and taken care of they made us feel throughout this entire process! Bed bug free for months now. Hopefully never again!  Thank you, thank you, thank you!  A million thumbs up!

Ross Kennedy did various jobs in my house that needed fixing, as walls and painting, tile work, door staining and stain removing on walls and ceilings.. He was very committed and did a great job. He is very punctual and is fair about his estimates and pricing. I would definitely recommend Ross.

We had a ground bee or yellowjacket next next to foundation. I contact John via Thumbtack. Gave me a great price and came out the next day. He killed the next and even said if it didn't work he would come back and dig it out the next day if it wasn't gone, but there was no need for that. I would definately recommend him for your exterminator job. He says he also does live animal trapping.

We called on a Tuesday and spoke with Sabrina, who was very knowledgable and able to answer all of my questions. She was also able to confirm we had bed bugs by allowing me to text her a picture of what I had found. By chance, we were able to schedule our treatment the very next day. The service men arrived on time, reviewed the removal of some important and often forgotten items with us and called later that day with an update, as promised. In addition to all of this, Sabrina provided me with a number to contact her directly to answer any questions since we had only one night to prepare the house. We couldn't ask for anything more.

Recently moved from Nashville and looking to make a few extra bucks by pet/house sitting. I know how hard it can be to go away from your animals and sometimes you just need to know that someone is looking after things while you are away. I have experience taking care of multiple locations with multiple animals and enjoy outdoor animals just as much as your typical house cat/dog. If you are just looking for someone to stop by once or twice a day, I can also provide this service. My current work has a very flexible schedule and as long as I can make plans a week or two in advance, it generally is not a problem for me to alter my schedule to accommodate your animals needs! Please give me a call or shoot me a text with your information and we can set up a meeting. Thank you for your time and I look forward to speaking with you, Devin Carre

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What do pest control companies do?

Pest control companies handle all aspects of bug, rodent and animal extermination or removal. Pest control professionals visit your home or office to identify the type of pest that is troubling you and offer various treatment plans — complete with clearly outlined costs. Once you and the pest control company have a signed agreement, the pro will begin treatment. Pest treatment can range from the use of spray pesticides and gel bait to live and/or kill traps. There are a wide range of types of pesticides, many of them nontoxic for humans and other small animals. This means you may be able to have your home treated for pests without harming nearby wildlife or your dog and cat. The pest control pro will carry out the treatment plan and, depending on the service agreement, provide follow-up such as emptying traps, inspecting access points, or reapplying pesticide spray if the pests return. Costs will vary based on the type of pest you are having removed and the extent of the infestation. The average national pest control price range is $80-$130. From a minor bedbug event to an entire home termite infestation, pest control companies have got you covered.

How much does it cost to remove a mouse?

If you have a mouse in your house you’re probably quickly researching pest control costs. Mice, although tiny, can transmit diseases and also get into your food and leave unsanitary droppings around your home. If you have seen one mouse in your house, it’s likely that more have taken up residence in your crawl space, attic or basement. The national average pest control cost is $150-$200. Costs can vary depending on whether you need to get rid of a population of living mice or just dispose of a dead mouse (or full traps), how extensive the mouse population is, and where you live in the country. Here are some examples of average pest control cost for removing a mouse:

  • $150 for initial trap setup and inspection (and sealing of entry holes).
    • $50 for rodent removal service calls and emptying of traps. This visit can also include identifying and sealing entry points that were not sealed on the first visit.
  • Rodent extermination: $110-$350, depending on how heavy the rodent population is, whether the mouse infestation poses health risks, how many entrances exist and how many rodent bait stations are needed.

How much does it cost for a pest control service?

Whether you need to get rid of bugs or rodents, pest removal professionals can be lifesaving when you have an infestation. Pest control prices will vary based on what type of pest is being removed. The national pest control price range is $80-$130, although prices can be much higher for tasks like wildlife removal (raccoons, bobcats, etc.), which might start at $250 and exceed $500, depending on the animal and the trapping measures required.

The cost of eliminating a termite colony ranges on average from $240 to $400, but these costs can increase greatly if the whole house is infested. The average cost to kill cockroaches is between $80 and $130, while bedbug extermination ranges from $320 to $400 on average. The main factors that will affect your pest control price are the type of pest, the extent of the infestation, the accessibility of the infested areas, and the type of treatment required.

How much does it cost to get rid of cockroaches?

Cockroaches are not only ugly, they are difficult to get rid of. Quick and resilient, they can be hard to get rid of without professional help once they have inhabited a house. Nationally, the average range for cockroach pest control cost is $80-$130. Extermination professionals typically provide a free estimate to determine the extent of the infestation. They’ll check for the main sources of the bugs, identify bug access and entry points into your home, and determine the best method for elimination. There are a variety of cockroach extermination tools including gel baits and traps, pesticide foggers, desiccants (which dry out the cockroaches), neurotoxins, and other pesticides. Pest control costs can also cover preventive measures like regular spraying and trap maintenance. Some regions of the country are much more prone to cockroach problems than others, so pest control costs may need to be part of your quarterly budget. Cockroaches love dark, humid, and warm areas and water sources, so place traps near your washer and dryer and under your sinks.

How much does it cost to treat a house for termites?

Termites are not only creepy-crawly, they can literally eat your house out from underneath you. Termites feed on damp and dry wood and can chomp through your house at an alarming rate. The national average pest control cost for termite extermination is $240-$400. Treatment costs can be higher for an extensive infestation. Here are some examples of average pest control costs for termites:

  • Liquid treatment of subterranean termites: $3-$4 per linear foot.
    • For $75 per year, a company may offer a maintenance plan that provides inspection of the property and renewal of the warranty.
  • Liquid treatment of subterranean termites: approximately $400 for a 2,000-square-foot home at $3-$5 per linear foot.
    • The price is higher for additional work such as foaming and drilling inside of concrete slabs.
  • Fumigation treatment of drywood termites: $1,200-$1,500 for a 30,000- to 35,000-cubic-foot home
    • Fumigation is measured in cubic feet because it fills the airspace of the home and infiltrates the wood that the termites may be colonizing. The cost of fumigation is affected by the number of levels in the home as well as the square footage.
