If I could give more stars I would! Randy was extremely helpful and easy to work with. He was very professional. He always responded to my questions quickly, which I find so important. I had no clue where to start with my project but he guided me through and went out of his way to help me with other things around the house. The painting looks absolutely perfect! I have so much more work to be done and he'll be my go-to guy!

Work involved cleaning carpet for entire house which is about 1600sq ft area with many stains, gum spots, staircase, etc. Garry has arrived on time and well prepared, pre-treated heavy soiled spots with chemicals and thoroughly clean room by room. Carpet looks spotless now. It took about 3-4 hours. I would highly recommend his service

I first hired Renew Renovations to remodel my dining room. Everything from removing a wall, sheet rock, texture, paint, wainscoting, new floors, new recessed lights and hanging my chandelier. I was so impressed by his knowledge, professionalism, cleanliness and of course my new dining room! I had them return to my home to remodel one of my guest bedrooms. They refinished my original hardwood floors, and textured and painted my walls. I would hands down recommend Renew Renovations to anyone and everyone. I am still in Aw that they created/gave me the dining room of my dreams!! Did I mention he helped me with pretty much the whole design aspect!!!

We have had Barry over to our house numerous times in 2017. He is a pleasant man, gets right to work without wasting a lot of time, works diligently, cleans up his work site at the end of each day, and completes the tasks he is physically able to complete. He requires payment at the end of each day rather than upon completion of the job, but his hourly rate is very reasonable. We have been pleased with his work and we will have him back to do a few painting jobs this spring (if spring ever arrives!). Most importantly, we trust him.

Top notch is the best review I can give to Jippy's painting. As a homeowner and a previous owner of a house rehabbing business, I have dealt with hundreds of painters. Kevin was prompt and accurate on his estimate. More importantly his work was efficient, not rushed, and probably the cleanest paint job I've ever seen.

Hired K&T to repair water damage to wall structure and attached upper deck, which was pulling away from the house. The work was done professionally and timely. They also did some inside work repairing drywall, taping and painting. Again all work was as agreed and done very well. Kris and Tamara are a pleasure to deal with and I wouldn't hesitate to contract with them again.

I would highly recommend Scott Horne Custom Homes and Remodeling for all your remodeling needs. We had a unique house to remodel and Scott was highly referred to us for custom work. We had a close relationship with Scott during the entire renovation and we were extremely happy with the outcome. Scott is truely a skilled carpenter that was able to make our dreams a reality!

I am so happy I found Randy on Thumbtack. He is prompt, courteous, friendly and we are very happy with the results. From painting wooden shelves, installing them, hanging up drapes and curtain rods, hanging up art work, touch up painting, replacing outdoor lights, we are very satisfied with his work. From the initial email and meeting, communicating with Randy is easy and he always follows through. Randy can do it all - remodel, repaint, repair, restore and we are already hiring him for other bigger projects and highly recommend his services to anyone looking to get things done around the house.

Wow! We are so impressed with the detailed job Prestige did on our home. Far exceeded our expectations! Our siding and extensive railing around our home was filthy and green in some spots. It was no match for Dan and his tools! My home now looks shiny and brand new and i couldn't be happier! We will definitely hire them again and recommend them to anyone in need of similar work.

The first job they did for me was a bathroom remodel. They made it look beautiful. They were timely, fair priced and produced an exceptional product. They have come back for additional repairs around the house and also put a new front porch on for me. I will certainly continue to use NEPA Remodeling in the future and recommend them to my friends and family.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

    How much do painters cost?

The national average cost for an interior painter ranges between $450 and $900. Interior painters can tackle everything from complete color makeovers in each of your rooms to touching up an accent wall to painting pieces of furniture. The square footage and complexity of the project, along with the materials needed, are the main factors that will affect cost. Other factors include whether you supply the paint yourself or want the painter to do so, whether you move the furniture and do the prep work or ask them to do it, and whether any repair work is needed on the walls. Painting the ceiling and the trim will also have an effect on cost. The type of paint you choose can also raise or lower your house painting cost. A gallon of paint may range from $20 to over $100, depending on quality and brand. Ask your painter if they charge per hour or per square foot, and how much you can save by doing prep work (moving furniture, etc.) yourself.

How much does it cost to paint the interior of a house?

Interior house painting costs are calculated on a few key factors. Nationally, interior house painting projects range from $200 to $2,500. The wide price range indicates how much square footage, paint selection and labor can affect cost. One pro uses a laser to measure each room, subtracting the size of the doors and windows, and then bases the quote on the square footage of the actual surfaces to be painted. Painters may provide you with savings if you opt to paint your entire home rather than just having one room or an accent wall painted. For example, the average house painting cost for an 8x12 room with 8-foot ceilings is roughly $200, when contractor-grade paint is used. Painting ceilings, baseboards and frames can also affect cost. Pros may charge per linear foot to smooth and paint baseboards. In one area pros might charge 50 cents per linear foot to paint baseboards, while pros in another part of the country could charge $1.50 per linear foot for the same task. Painters may charge flat rates for painting door and window frames, with one charging $20-$25 and another $60 per door. Geography and regional costs to do business play a major role in the cost of interior painting. The same painter in a rural region has less to pay in taxes, transportation, insurance and overhead than they would in a major city like New York.

How much does a painter charge per room?

The cost to paint a room will vary based on the size of the room, the type of paint you select, any ceiling or trim work needed, and any repairs needed. If no repairs or other additional work is needed, painting a room with contractor-grade paint could range from $1 to $2 per square foot, including materials. Selecting a luxury paint (some cost more than $100 per gallon) will certainly increase your house painting costs. Here are some additional examples of average house painting costs, per room:

    • 12x12 room with a 9-foot ceiling: about $125
    • 12x12 room with an 8-foot ceiling: about $100
    • 14x16 master bedroom with a 9-foot ceiling: about $150
    • 14x16 master bedroom with an 8-foot ceiling: about $125
    • 16x16 living room with a 9-foot ceiling: about $175
    • 16x16 living room with a 20-foot ceiling: starting at $225
