Dog walking service has been a great experience! Meeting with the owner was professional and thorough. He explained everything and answered all my questions. My dog walker sends a text and a photo to me everyday giving a report about her time with my puppy. That is such a wonderful part of the experience. I look forward to it everyday! I regret that I need to leave my puppy alone while I am at work and the report everyday puts my mind at ease. Also, a written note is left everyday as well. These little touches make this a very special and personal service. I highly recommend Blackstone Valley Dog Walking and Pet Sitting. They go above and beyond caring for pets as if they were there own.

Kate came in and with little or no guidance or input from us, transformed our sloppy and cluttered basement into an open and usable area in our cellar. We have several other areas in our house for her to work her magic. Can’t wait to see the results. She’s awesome!

I have been using K9cardio for a year now. My experience began with dog walking. They were always on time , always left a note about my 2 dogs' behavior, and only heavy snow prevented them from coming to walk them. My dogs have met all the employees, who are good friends now to all of us! I started traveling because I felt so comfortable leaving my dogs with Jason, Laura, and the gang, who took turns staying at my house-- the ideal arrangement for us (They even sent photos and notes to me about them while I was gone!). K9cardio is one of the best things about our move to the Cape.

We needed someone to care for our 4 month old kitten while we were away and I am so grateful we hired WagAMore Services. We needed someone to come over to our house to play with Skipper, feed him, and change his litter. They were so good about sending us daily photos of Skipper while we were in Europe so it gave us reassurance that he was doing ok. They even collected our mail and did other small favors we asked while we were away. We would hire WagAMore again as we never had to worry about Skipper while we were away. Super professional, reliable and caring service for your pets. Highly recommend!

We hired Robin as our trainer for two shelter dogs (4yo and 5yo) both have not had the best of beginnings, so training on our own was impossible. Robin knows exactly what to do, she has great suggestions, she is a great teacher to us humans and she has the best tone and connection with Daisy and Bella! They really like her and are happy to see her when she pulls up to the house! We are looking forward to more sessions with her!

I needed someone to stay at our home for a few days to take care if our animals; we have cats and dogs. They needed no special/medical attention but there is a routine here and I just wanted someone around. Kathy was excellent! All of the furkids loved her and she was very aware of their schedules. Kathy would send me pictures daily. Kathy brought her own food, even though I offered to purchase her likes, and she even brought her own bed sheets and towels, even though they were not needed. I felt safe with her having the keys to our home and the house alarm. I would recommend her with nothing but praise and I will be using Kathy's services again.

My kitten was sick and I was really worried about him, so I asked Katie to watch him all day while I was at work. She stayed with him and texted me about how he was doing. By the end of the day he felt much better and was running around the house like normal. Katie is super nice and compassionate and sincerely loves animals. I trust her more than anyone to look after my kitty! You will not regret choosing Little Lyons Sitting & Care for your petsitting needs. I will definitely choose her again should the need arise.

I had Jane watch over my house and dog while I was away at New York City for a week. She took very good care my puppy and developed a bond with it. My house was just as I left it as well after returning home. Jane is responsible and always looking for more work.

Brenda did great for her first time. She spent extra time with my cat Jessie. My house was very clean...no signs of kitty litter on floors or smells through the house. We plan on having her again in the near future. We were very pleased that she would do the holidays.

About

I became a pet sitter as a way to make extra money while doing something I love, taking care of animals. In the past, I've gone to homes and watched the pets and houses when the owners were away. I would also be willing to just stop in to take care of the pets if that's what the owners are more comfortable with. I have taken care of almost every average house pet excluding snakes and spiders and I am comfortable handling most animals.

About

I've always had a huge passion for animals especially cats. I've grown up with cats, and I know how to care for them properly.

About

We watch pets in your home or ours. When you are on vacation, rest assured your loved ones are in good hands.

About

I have been a Realtor in the Plymouth, Massachusetts area for 25 years. I have been in the house/pet sitting business for the past eight years or so. I have great respect for homes and pets and love what I do! I find that people would much rather keep their pets in their own homes rather than kennels when they travel, and that's where I come in. I can supply excellent references.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is house sitting?

A house sitter watches your house while you are away for work or vacation, or if you have to be away for an extended period. House sitters can also provide pet-sitting services, staying in your home and caring for your pet while you are away. The house sitter can say overnight in your home while you’re gone, or stop by once a day to ensure everything is in order if your pet doesn’t need overnight supervision. Reptiles and most cats are just fine with daily visits and feeding.

House sitting provides major advantages to the homeowner. A regular presence in your house deters break-ins and theft. Home safety issues such as water leaks get noticed and dealt with right away, so you don’t come home to big problems. A house sitter can bring in your mail daily, care for your houseplants, and provide home safety and peace of mind.

How do I find a reliable house sitter?

House sitting can help keep your home safe and well cared for so you can be worry-free while you’re away for work or play. There are several steps you can take to make sure you hire a trustworthy house sitter and do your part to be a responsible host. One of the best ways to ensure a safe home is to hire a professional house sitter. Here are some key points to look for when hiring a house sitter:

  • Reviews and referrals: When searching for a house sitter, always read reviews. Previous experiences will indicate how the house sitter will care for your home while you’re away.
  • Contract: Sign a clearly written contract outlining services to be provided (e.g., mail in each day by 5 p.m.), the daily rate you are paying, and how long the services will be provided. You can also include any agreed-upon house rules in the written contract.
  • Your part: Leave important phone numbers (vet, emergency contact, etc.) and information on where to find emergency items like the circuit breaker and the fire extinguisher, and have a credit card on file with the veterinarian in case of emergencies if the house sitter is watching your pets.
