I am a scientist who loves singing. I found Bulent Guneralp three years ago after moving to Boston for my PhD and searching for singing teachers online. His website detailing his experience and all the positive reviews made me consider him, and I am really happy that I did so. Mr. Guneralp is a unique teacher and human being. He is multi-talented yet very down-to-earth, he is very encouraging yet expects the best from you, constantly improves himself and his teaching methods, and is overall fun to work with. He doesn't only teach but also performs, so he knows what it is like to perform live and the expectations of stage life. I first started taking voice lessons 10 years ago, continued on and off, but did not perform in public until studying with Mr. Guneralp, who helped me overcome my stage fright and sing solo in a concert for the first time in 2016! His scientific teaching method which also uses certain visualizations helped me better understand and use my body as a vocal instrument. I believe not only my technical progress but my overall development as a singer gave me the confidence to sing for the first time in public. We have been working on arias and art songs in Italian, German, French, English and Turkish! My diction in these different languages has improved. I also learned a great deal of sight-singing, music theory and ear-training, areas in which I was not educated in the past. Recently I moved to Maryland, yet continue taking lessons from him remotely via Skype / FaceTime. I strongly recommend Mr. Guneralp to anyone, professional or amateur, interested in developing their vocal and musical skills.
Otis has a great understanding of music and the learning process and would be great for all ages and style of play
When I set up my first guitar lesson with Nick I wasn't sure what to expect and was really nervous to be learning something so unfamiliar. I quickly found out that I had chosen an extremely patient, understanding and encouraging music teacher. Not only does Nick have the knowledge to back up his music experience but he also has fun ways to help you remember small lessons along the way. In a few short weeks I have built both confidence and passion to play the guitar and have completely shocked myself with how far along I have come. I truly believe Nick can help any dedicated aspiring musician no matter what level of experience they have.
I have studied with Bertrand in small classes at the Passim School of Music and privately at his studio. He is an excellent teacher who brings a high level of commitment and enthusiasm to his sessions. He uses a holistic approach covering the theoretical , technical and even the ergonomic aspects of guitar playing. I particularly enjoyed his harmony class which have given me a solid rudimentary understanding of how chord progressions are built allowing me to begin improvising. Finally, he has a grasp of many genres of popular music and is willing to work in any that interests his students. Highly recommended
What can I say, Josh is one of the most talent guitar players I've ever seen play. He knows is stuff. Unlike a lot of guitar teachers who just play well, he really knows how to teach effectively.
I had my 1st lesson with Andy last week. I learned more about music and the guitar in that one lesson than I had in years with other teachers. He truly seems to have a gift for teaching music and I'm looking forward to working with him more.
Jessica is incredible! Skilled as a singer and a teacher, but even more important, supportive and encouraging. I'd had one or two Groupon voice lessons but couldn't really sing with those teachers. But with Jessica, I felt comfortable on the very first day. Already after just 3 lessons I've gained enough confidence to sing into a microphone and have been asked to sing harmony on stage with a band! I recommend her very highly to anyone looking to take that leap into singing because she will truly make developing g your potential a personal quest.
I would highly recommend Brad as a guitar teacher. He has experience teaching students at a range of skill levels and takes time to understand a player's specific musical interests. He has a flexible approach, offering lessons over Skype and making himself available for questions in between lessons. I will keep working with Brad in the future and any other guitar players in his area should do the same.
Jaime is the best guitar teacher ever. He's very patient and had all the knowledge to point me in the right direction to take my guitar playing to another level. His passion for music inspired me a lot!! Thx so much Jaime!
Great teacher of music to my kids.
I've had multiple sessions with Josh. He's extremely knowledge about Ableton and music theory in general. Since starting my lessons I've learned how to master my tracks and many different techniques to help make my tracks sound more unique.
Cristina has been teaching our two daughters (now 10 and 11) for the last three years. We feel blessed to have found her 3 years ago through Berklee school of music. She is a gifted singer, and prepares weekly lesson plans for our daughters. She focuses on music theory, does vocal warm-ups and has helped them tremendously with their performance skills. She puts her heart and soul into everything she does and cares not just about the girls progress in singing but about them as a whole, their confidence and well-being. However, not only is Cristina, an amazing teacher and vocalist, but she is a role model to our girls and has become part of our family. We feel so fortunate to have found Cristina. Anyone looking for singing lessons would be lucky to have Cristina.
Joyce is tremendously talented both as a teacher and as a musician. Her enthusiasm for the art and science of music is contagious and her students love being with her. I know many of her students and believe they will be singing and playing for LIFE!
Although we have only had one lesson for my son, Grey was great. He takes a thoughtful approach and wants to cultivate the love of music and have students walking away with a good experience. He is very knowledgeable and explains things in accessible terms.
I studied with Stanley Wilson for many years and because of him I was accepted to one of the world's greatest conservatories, The Eastman School of Music. Mr. Wilson has the exceptional skill of pinpointing exactly where technique could be improved and how to correct the errors. It is because of Mr. Wilson that I won the Hal Leonard Art Song Competition (3rd place), American Prize Competition (3rd place), and Opera Worcester Voice Competition (1st place). He also influenced me to audition for the Tanglewood Festival Choir, the All-National Honors Choir, and Boston University Tanglewood Institute.
Johnny is an excellent cello teacher and a phenomenally skilled cellist! He is very thoughtful and pays close attention to the student's technique for both fingering and bowing. Johnny gives great anecdotes and analogies to illustrate how to think about playing a certain song or bow strokes for a certain section, for example. He is fun and patient and readily adapts to what the student needs. I highly recommend Johnny as a cello teacher, for cello students of all levels!
Alexandra is an absolutely wonderful teacher. She is a true professional, kind and compassionate. My daughter is on the timid side but has always expressed interest in singing. I was unsure of how she'd do and how she would take to a teacher, we could not have asked for a better teacher, a better person, than Alexandra. She is patient and so very knowledgeable. We highly recommend her.
If you have an opportunity to work with Tim I highly, highly recommend it. Here's why - he knows his stuff and he's one of the most gifted teachers I've ever met. Period. I first met Tim a few years ago in California, looking for someone to teach me the drums. As an adult learner I was pretty set in my ways - I'd done customer training for more than 15 years and was usually very skeptical when it came to how other trainers approach teaching students. Simply put, Tim blew me away. He knows the drums, without a doubt. What sets him apart from other teachers is his natural ability to lead, guide, ans instruct. He's patient, he's kind, and he's genuinely invested in your growth as a student drummer. Every student learns a little differently and I've seen Tim easily adapt his teaching methods in ways that best suit his students' learning preferences. That's not something you learn, it's something you feel. If you're an adult like me, or a parent looking for the best teacher to help your child learn, understand and incorporate the beauty of music in to his/her life, Tim Carman is the guy for you.
Liana is a great teacher.
My 9 year old son started learning the piano from Simona a year ago and he loves the piano. When he completed a year, he was thrilled and looked forward to many more years learning from Simona. Simona and the way she teaches has played a crucial role in my son discovering the joy of music. Simona has the ability to know where the student is and teach keeping that in mind which makes the teaching experience of so much more value as compared to a cookie-cutter approach. Simona makes the class fun. She is able to relate the topics to kids in a way in which they can easily understand. She is also very patient and at the same time, knows when to gently nudge the student towards his potential. As a person, we find Simona to be very amiable and calm. Simona is an exceptional teacher and we consider our son very fortunate to have her as his piano teacher.
When my daughter started her lessons with Fiona, she knew nothing about guitar and was very shy. After a year and a half, she now knows different chords and the notes that make them up, she is able to read music, she has learned how to play songs of her choice, and has been given the confidence to play in front of others. My daughter has been in 2 recitals and loves the guitar. Fiona has been a great teacher and pays attention to what your child wants to learn. My daughter really connects with Fiona and enjoys playing alongside her during lessons.
